08 Ford Fusion. Check engine Code po410 po491. Replace diverter valve

We got a check engine Code po410 and po491. They basically said low pressure from secondary air pump. Hotwired pump and worked. So it was eather relay or diverter valve so we replaced both for $30. The original diverter valve was $200... #workingman

In CA smog will not allow bypass. To rule in/out Smog Pump or Relay, it will only come on for a few seconds, and only on a cold start (not warm). Disconnect the intake hose at the front of the check valve, cold- start, and the pump should come on for a few seconds. Also, careful with brittle vacuum lines, check for any leaks triggering codes & CEL. For 2.3L the parts are: Secondary Air Injection Check Valve 6S43-9F491-AA Relay F808B-14B192-AA Solenoid 6L34-9H465-BA

In new york we dont have emissions to deal with that is still a valve i replaced it with. Its just a universal one.

I super appreciate you putting up this video. I feel this might be the issue with my fusion although I completely understand the process in which you’ve done to fix your car but I don’t think that you said where you got the check valve from I’ve been looking all over for it around my town and nobody carries it. Is there a chance you can shoot me a message and let me know exactly where what when and how you got that check valve

I love it. Could you tell use what the vale came from? Parts people no longer can just match or use the Buyers Guide to select parts. Read everything here don't see a part # or original application. I am guessing at a old Ford?

Hello WMR I have the same two codes coming up (P0491 and Po410) on my 2008 2.3 ford fusion. Can you tell me what the two parts you used to bypass the diverter valve are? You said you went to ace hardware for one of the parts and what auto parts store did you get the other piece? Thanks for posting the video.

I see the ace hardware number B&k 5754 1/2 inch steel male adapter. Its the one way check valve from car quest all I can see on the box is cv8 it's upside down and I cant read the part number.Thanks for getting back to me so fast.

What do you do with the third little dangaly bit that attaches to to top of the original secondary pump

Been a while since i had that car... I assume if you take the valve off and start the car it should pump air. The diverted valve was just a 1 way valve so exhaust gas dont go into pump if i remember right
