What do i do if the air pump relay in my ford focus 2006 is not there. I mean the bottom right corner of the junction box is empty?

Why jumping the wire at the end of the video would cause engine to stumble? I have the same set of trouble codes and plan to fix it myself.

because it is injecting more exhaust gasses, the EGR function. so the vehicle will stumble or die.

I had the same codes.. took my 06"Focus to a mechanic and he just replaced the fuse. It was clearly burnt out. He didn't check anything else. I'm still not sure if a $2 fuse was the reason for the car to act up.

It's very possible. But a fuse is designed to protect wiring and devices from overloading, fuses usually don't just wear out. so if I had the same issue, concerning the smog pump, it is possible u have either some bad wiring or a failing smog pump.

How do you run the jumper to make sure it works? I replaced mine and the light is still on.

Amanda Arp Did you reset the computer, using a scan tool? And you jump the two slots where the relay was.

No I didn't use a scan tool to reset it. I unplugged the battery.

But the light came back on after a day.

Yes I replaced the air pump. I was told I might need to drive it for a while or have it reset using a scan tool. Unless of course I did something wrong. Also possible.
