I would highly recommend not to do what this guy is doing. Not only poisoning the environment but introducing hose water to the cooling system is likely to build rust in it over time. Do not do what this guy is doing!

Its okay to use hose water, as long as you flush everything after with distilled water, then put on the coolant finally.

It’s not very responsible to just drain your fluid onto the ground. Bottle it up and recycle it.

This guy has no idea what he is doing 😂 dude popped off the lines.. there is a simple drain valve on the bottom driver side . Running that tap water through the system is going to corrode the inside with all those minerals. That poor car…

Just like other comments, I'm pretty shocked you just drained the coolant onto the ground. Not very responsible of you, hope you don't do that with your motor oil changes.

For a flush like that I would of suggested distilled water. Not sure if hose water would have any long term affect as far as corrosion goes but i'd assume if it were all cleared and only the new coolant remained I don't see a problem. Also reverse the heater core hoses and push water through it to clean it well but with low pressure. A water hoses pressure could damage it. As far as pouring coolant onto the ground I wouldn't recommend it due to its toxicity. I've got an 08 Lancer GTS and just serviced all my fluids.
@robertmedina31953 жыл бұрын
You really think the pressure from a water hose is going to be stronger or as strong as the pressure from a water pump?
@oof5783 жыл бұрын
@@robertmedina3195 doubt that but reversing the hoses on the heater core and then sticking a water hose to the exit and flushing it out of the inlet isnt good

there is a problem, 09:10. jingle valve position of thermostat must be up, you see 06:00. you will have air bouble problem on your coolant.
@boostxrabbit874 жыл бұрын
Few things I’d recommend. 1. You should really drain the radiator using the peacock on the passenger side of the radiator. 2. Please catch all the coolant and recycle. Please stop being lazy. 3. You coolant color from 08+ should be blue, not green. The formula changed to help with rust inhibitors. 4. Exactly what you’ve done in this video is THE REASON why manufacturers make their systems more complicated to keep back yard hack mechanics like you from working on them. Please stop and hang up your tools.
@jonathanconway2 жыл бұрын
Exactly! So lazy, didn't even use a funnel to pour the new coolant in lol, just free pour and let it splash everywhere

I have a 2009 Lancer ES and had a problem after replacing the thermostat. I didn't put the gasket maker and it leaks all the time. Where should I put that on? I'm afraid I put it in the wrong spot, and it will damage the thermostat. Also, should I change the temperature sender sensor as well?

did u clean the coolant reservoir Ray ? If yes and u did empty it, do u fill it up with coolant u just let the coolant that was poured in the radiator flow thru ?
