Fantastic research/ video .. where and how do you get your research for these vids

Thanks @yasmeenrtubv1841 ! I have to admit it is nothing more than search after search on Google and a trip to Redbridge Library. They also have maps dating back decades (and centuries). Another very useful tool is the Planning documents search on the Redbridge website which can often fill in gaps about when things closed or opened.

@@IlfordRetro wow so some years after Winston way was built. Why did they not pedestrianised it in the same year
@IlfordRetro10 ай бұрын
@@Kmc1qlAq8Dt6tpVCit was because they had to open Winston Way in phases and make sure it was all working before they could close off the High Road to traffic. To be fair to the council, it was a huge project really, and took a lot of coordination.

@@IlfordRetro I'm not informed enough about it but with the talk of reforming the Winston way system, is there not any chance of traffic being re routed back down the high road
@IlfordRetro10 ай бұрын
@@Kmc1qlAq8Dt6tpVC not really to be honest because even though the straight course of the High Road is still there, part of it is eaten up by the protruding frontage of the Exchange.
