Dragon Age 2 is.. a human experience. Not unlike Origin and Inquisition where you're a part of something bigger than yourself. People say it's bad, but for me, it's the best Dragon Age game.

The combat and dungeons arent great, but the story es very good. It is about others, not about you. Mages, templars, corruption, discrimination... Really hard decisions.

Totally with you there! I love stories in which you just experience a character's story that is not based on extraordinary heroism and the circumstance of being the chosen one. Especially if the character in question has his/her happy ending denied (like Hawke's mother dying or him/her ending up lonely without a love-interest, etc.). Those are the stories of a life, far away from fantastic images of heroism and happily-ever-afters....
@Tomarus325 жыл бұрын
A Human Experience is such a good description of this game. It's so flawed, so many technical issues, but a very human story. It definitely has a soul, and it's sad and beautiful.
@danskyl7279 Жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say its the best, ahem Origins is... But Dragon age 2 is pretty good, not a bad game by any means. I just think DA2 was a victim of rush production, clearly there's some cool idea to tell a human story, but yeah, everything is so rush to obvilion.

This game released right alongside the most difficult, confusing, and stressful years of high school for me. Played it almost nonstop for about 3 years. Kirkwall was the place I'd escape from the real world to; then I just... stopped playing for one reason or another. I think this is my first time listening to the Hawke theme in at least 5 years, and... holy shit. The nostalgia hits like a truck. Feels like I just pulled a dusty old family photo album out of a forgotten box in my basement.

@@elock1277 I miss old bioware. Inquisition was downright bad. I hated how you can't get close to almost everyone because you're basically an emperor. And the low speech volume when speaking to everyone. Don't get me started on the armor. I wanted to wear the heavy Kirkwall plate mail in inquisition without any gloves, and just a mage leather boots like I did in Dragon Age 2. But no you can't unequip pieces of any armor and you have 1 specified style to get stuck with for Inquisition. Too fancy, I hate the armor design for inquisition. That's why I like Kirkwall's fashion sense, they're stylish but they keep it simple at the same time, it's like you can run in those clothes. That's Kirkwall's armor and clothes for you. Screw Ferelden's Ugly clothes and Orlais' fancy clothes. Except Tevinter, I like their edgy style.
@joshishere962 жыл бұрын
@@elock1277 if they only kept the armor pieces from Origins and Dragon Age 2. Allow you to unequip gloves and boots so you can mix and match. Tint those pieces, make the voice audio louder, and zoom in random conversations I would've been very happy. Plus bring back underdog companions like Fenris or Isabella. Vivienne can get lost. No one likes a snob.

This OST has always spoke to me. I used to turn on II and idle in Gamlens home / the estate while I wrote or did other things because hearing this just made me so happy. It made me feel so nostalgic and it still does. It has twinges of sadness, bittersweet beginnings, loss. You feel safe but somewhere that isnt home. You feel the loss of your sibling(s), your mother, your friends. Pressure is building but youre home now so its okay.

It makes me feel very nostalgic. Before there was so much noise and lots of light at home. Now I feel alone and the silence overwhelms me. With my dad's death things changed so much. I had never realized that he was our sun and our union. My mom misses him so much and I know she keeps going just for us, that makes me understand Leandra.

I personally think 2 is the best written dragon age. It has its flaws, but the game is a more personal story rather than this globe trotting epic like origins and inquisition. It’s very character based and all about how one person became a legend just by trying to make life better for their family.

I'll tell you guys honestly that the only good people who were in Dragon age II was the Hawke family Varric and Aveline and..... well...... maybe Merril...... and yep thats that... Sebastian a spoiled brat, Fenris is a duffbag, Isabela will betray you unless you get some private time (I'm mean playig chess by this only) and Anders? now to be honest here by the end of DAII I couldn't choose if I'd wish to finish off Anders or allow Sebastian to come and destroy Kirkwall..... I'll be honest if the game would have been long enough to worth our time then I'd say if we've had the option to become the leader of Kirkwall and not just the Champion of Kirkwall then I could have regulated the city and I could have changed it for the better...... But seeing poor Hawke going through all the crap and (lorewisely) still he is a good kind warmhearted nice person after all of that? Hawke is the best of all and I'd have wished him getting together with Aveline...... they would have been a perfect couple and Hawke would have had someone at his side who would have died for him and who would have dragged him back even in the middle of an army of Darkspawns.... yeah.... Hawke is the best guy.......

Dragon age 2 is the best of the series because it has amazing plot and intrigue. Sure the areas are a bit cheap but it looks like a budget issue, they did the best they could with the money they had. It's really good and it's a worthy successor of origins, which was also good. Inquisition on the other hand.. ugh.. the sjw / feminist propaganda tainted that game too much.
