It does not start now and triple A came today to jump start it and the car did not accept the jump. He said something else is wrong with it. My son attends Cal State Northridge University ( CSUN) in California. He got all but one coil replaced a few months ago. At Big O's. The mechanic said the other one was new. My son said when he had put the car in drive the other day before it went dead, the car rolled in reverse on a flat surface. Do you have any idea what this can be? The car has 158,000 miles on it. The dash board light is showing a the tire pressure sign and he just got 4 new tires, the maintenance car soon light is on, the car with a key in the center is red and ((!)). It's like the tire pressure sign but with parentheses. I read up on the sign and it said it could be the brake system. He has to tow it to the shop because it will not start and he had to use the door key because the remote would not work. It's a push start. Kindly, Rochelle Email is [e-mail]

Hi, Joel. Firstly, I have to praise you for your excellent disposition to answer questions from your viewers. Secondly, your video is the most complete I've seen explaining troubleshooting procedure. I have a 2008 Altima Hybrid, which is no longer recognizing the Intelligent Key, and the hybrid system warning light came on. I have had two instances in which a ignition coil failed. Do you have any suggestions where do I need to start troubleshooting? I'm a US retiree living in Acapulco, Mexico and there are no mechanics down here that work on this particular type of vehicle. The problem with those vehicles are the ignition coils fail , the second problem the aftermarket simple do not work , and you can buy a set of them oem/Hitachi. Third problem the coils may have already caused damaged to the engine computer . The key for get damages inside have a phone repair place to open it and resold it. Did you install new battery?

When you say "resold", do mean to re-solder the contacts inside the car computer that have been melted, if any? My car's battery is only about four-five months old and it's fully charged. Hey, Can I as you a quick question, I have the exact same vehicle, 2008 nissan altima hybrid. I am getting a code P0A94 and P0AC4 codes. Which is power train, and DC/DC converter. Do you think I should replace the inverter assembly? I checked the cables under the hood and in the trunk, everything looks good, so I am thinking it is the converter. The car goes into limp mode after accelerating (under some load).

Thank you Joel for sharing! I've 2007 Altima Hybrid and it was running fine without any issue. But when car was not in use for couple of weeks straight, the 12V battery died. So I replaced 12 Volt battery with new Nissan Battery. But then car started but Hybrid battery keeps charging but car does NOT run in EV mode. Any recommendation how to resolve this issue? Dealer recommended to replace hybrid battery!

The híbried batteries are very sensitive when they get fully discharged; they can not ecover most if the time , this type of batteries are very peaky , they do not like more Tann 80% or 20% charge , if they go above those limits they may not receiver to acept charge any more .

Hola Joel. Have the same annoying code. Check engine comes on and a little red car with an exclamation sign below it. Car runs fine but won't engage in hybrid mode. However, if I reset it with the OBD, it runs on hybrid as it should for about a couple of weeks only. Installed new coils, spark plugs (irridium), change oil, etc. Driving me nuts! any tips?

I can email you some of the videos I have taken. I tried replacing the inverter but I had no luck still doing the same thing. Joel Automotive In action Thanks for then reply. My local guy told me the hybrid battery needed replacing but that was before he adjusted the high idle. He cleaned out the throttle body and cleared the Check engine light and hybrid and it seemed fine. Two days after that the battery needle was empty and I drove it around and charged it and it held charge until Thursday morning when the same thing happened and the check engine light as well as the hybrid light came on.
