I've never hear voices in the past when I had my "psychotic" attacks, I had hypomania in the past and my pdoc says "Schizophrenia" not "Bipolar". I relate with your symptoms and with Olanzapine 10 mg and Lamotrigine 400 mg I'm stabilized, but my meds are the same for a Bipolar patient. I hate my diagnosis, I didn't feel represent with It. Wish you good lucky man, you can handle It and do a normal life :) stay doing the right things

I got very upset after being diagnosed with bipolar. I was started on lithium and dropped it after taking it for several months. You aren’t kidding about the withdrawals because I went OFF. I’m starting today back on Lithium, Clonazapem and now this Risperoden. Im glad you had at least a good review because all I’ve heard is gain weight and feeling tired all of the time. My dad used to take risperidone when he was a patient of severe depression and schizophrenia. Now he is good but I m observing quite unusual behaviour - he gets up very early at 3 am goes cleans the room . He seems energetic through out the days. He talks about different business idea. He also talks about supernatural powers. These all sounds good but he gets into tough arguments, spends money on things which is of little or no use and most importantly he watches news channel when he gets up from bed in loud voice. I mean his behaviour can't be distinguished , he acts very normal and talks normal. We thought he has overcome the ailments and we discontinued for two years now. He seemed fine , no such cases of schizophrenia or depression. Now, a month or so there is sudden unusual sign in his behaviour which i have mentioned in above paragraph. Shall we go ahead with the same prescription . Like Risperidone and Spectra ?? What are the medicine you used in initial days?

Thank you for sharing Anthony. I will share your video with my mum. She too was diagnosed with bipolar 1 and can get very bad psychosis without medication. At the moment she has been admitted but the anti psychotic injection she was given has very bad side effect. She would hide her medication which resulted with her getting admitted for fighting with neighbours getting arrested and thinking people are against her. Much appreciate listening to your experience. I’m in this exact situation with my Mother. I feel like I hit a wall when trying to get her the right help. She also refuses to medicate herself, but her mania and crisis episodes are overwhelming for myself and brother who lives with her. She’s older and stubborn and refuses to accept her issues, or medicate. It’s such a challenging situation. I feel like I don’t know what to do anymore.

Thank u very much for your courage. My son first episode was in 2016 (20 years ). 5 years later, a 2nd episode of psychosis. But it only lasted 6 days +/-. He was on Risperdal 5 years ago, but he discontinued 4 months later, slowly. Now he's on Olanzapine, and i think that's for for mostly bipolar, and my sister is bipolar for many years. I don't know how to deal with all this drug meds information, theres so different from people to people, weird... how the hell can we have faith in them. My son is getting better everyday. He told me he had an "eating disorder" and he was fasting here and there for several months, that i wasn't aware. He runs a lot (sports), and trains in a boxing gym. He had a good job but lost it last week. Personally, the family is saying that a well balnce 3 meals a day with snacks will save him... no need for drugs. i believe we'll try that system, food, love, and 8 hours of solid sleep (beer on the weekend).

I was on Risperdal 2mg for depression and anxiety...I'm 5'4 and I gained 50 pounds....it was a horrible experience...my doctor was a wack job which I later found out...I was on it for 5 years and I still can't get the weight off...thankfully I found a doctor who we end me off and I'm doing much better...I would not recommend it to anyone there are other and better meds then Risperdal

@@aliaraza Roof leaked, heat had problems, fallen trees ruined the fence around the tennis court, ad finally there was a water leak that caused us to have to turn off water to the addition. It would have been cheaper to fix it than demolish it but after I sold the house in Aug 2020 I haven't heard why other than it was bought by a developer. If you want to see more of the house as it was, its in my earlier video. I put a very nice california closet in for alot of money and its terrible it was demolished.

I am on 200mg Sertraline, 30mg Mirtazapine and since two days additionally 0.5mg Risperidone for Depression/Anxiety/Amotivational syndrome due to a history with addiction/OCD. The stuff makes me a bit tired, but not as bad as Zyprexa or Trazodone. The OCD symptomes stopped immediately. Since I took Zyprexa for over a year I know that feeling not like myself and sedation will wear off over time. I just hope that the medication will continue to work as withdrawing from Neuroleptics is a horror and worse than stopping opioids. For me, NL withdrawl causes agitation, severe anxiety, sleeplessness, fatigue and restless legs. I wish you the best of luck and stay healthy.

@@3ldad226 That's a lot of medicine for a 14 years old... Be careful with that "Klonopin". Benzodiazepines can cause a serious addiction (mentally + physically) and the withdrawl can kill you without medical supervision. Does the Risperdal work for you?

But yesterday I had an appointment with my doctor and she lowered risperidone to 1mg I was on 2mg of risperidone for about 8weeks. @@cesarcahuis7445 Hi! I stopped Sertralin completely because it didn't help me much and my Risperidone was raised to 2mg, which causes weight gain but completely stops my OCD. I stopped Mirtazapine aswell due to tiredness in the morning and now I am being put on Venlafaxine which I tolerate very well. Hopefully it will help against my depressed mood. Further, it seems like I have to take that dosage of Risperidone at least for half a year to have a permanent benefit from it. I took 5mg of Olanzapine for a while, so I know that stopping neuroleptics isn't easy. I wish you good luck and a lot of strength for this. Take care.

I'll listen to your story the same thing happened to me the same situation you described. Also have bipolar 1 took Zyprexa gain massive weight then started invega. It caused me to have derealization severe. The best antipsychotic I've ever taken is asenapine Saphris. But the derealization stays with me it's more crippling in the manic episodes. @@tessalogan586 oh yeah I’m serious, the drug I was given is relatively a very new injection of risperidone and for some reason the quack psychiatrist recommended it to me because it’s $3000 per injection and because it’s so expensive I thought it would take away my blues so I bought into his scheme and got really messed up. I also CT too because I didn’t want to be on risperidone for depression, it’s not even for it, withdraw was hell. I’m lucky I guess but at least it made me aware of the dangers of psychiatric drugs and psychiatry, I’m just taking it as a learning experience. Unfortunately my story is much longer than just a shot because shortly after quitting my brain started burning and it’s a condition called occipital neuralgia which is really rare and was caused by manual labor, I’ve been plagued with bad luck this year

I would recommend resperidone to anyone who needs help but it does come with weight gain. Also, in the past I was able to come of seroquel but when I tried, due to weight gain, to come off resperidone the withdrawal was too intense so I am continuing to take it.

Thanks for the review. I went from 1 to 3 mg pretty quick in the psych ward, and had a hard time with it. Pretty much just the issue with it physically being hard to get up in the morning(Like someone sitting on your chest, I guess?). Seroquel XR is making me feel like that too. I can't say it helped with my depression, but it's good to know that those side effects kind of level out with it.

Being that I'm pretty much anxiety free I'd go with Risperidone... Olanxapine made me feel like I was a different person and I didn't like it.

@@ARon82 my son he's currently on olanzapine but it's messing with his white blood cell count so his doctor wants to switch him to risperidone and I am afraid because I am leery about pills in general but I'll try it out for him because with the olanzapine he still has anxiety which I believe led to his psychotic episode. He was diagnosed with schizophrenia.

been on this (R 1 mg) for almost 3 weeks all it does is help me sleep. You will only gain weight on this if you're (people in general) lazy and eat a bunch of junk (GMO/Fast Food) and don't work out. i haven't gained not even 1 pound on this. Do Cardio for ar least for 1 hour daily and go on a zero carb diet.

😨😫You've only been on risperidone for 3Weeks so even though u haven't gained weight yet u still have NO idea if u will gain a lot of weight over time! I'm a 33 year old female I'm 5 foot tall & my hole life I've always weighed 90-100 pounds so I've ALWAYS been thin & athletic my hole life! I've been on risperidone for 8months & GAINED 33 Pounds so now I weigh 133 Pounds. I understand that 133 Pounds is considered average for my height but it's still a lot of weight to gain from just 1 medication! My point is that each person's experience is different! I feel bad for people that may already struggle with their weight & then get on Risperidone & end up gaining a bunch of weight! Because weight gain is a common side effect!

Have you tried a carnivore diet. It is by far the easiest and most effective treatment. Not completely fool proof but very effective. And you'd be surprised how easy it is.
