Thank you to 0gravity Percussion for sending me the Mars mallets! Definitely a step up from the first-gen Jupiters I received last year - you can get them from: www.0gravitypercussion.com/shop/ P.S. I'm heading to Florida this week for MALLETLAB! If you're going to be there let me know in the comments below :) #TheStudioFamily

I know this reply is LATE, but I found your channel a few months back. I'm a high school percussionist who loves marimba more than any other instrument and I love your videos. I just have one request for future mallet review videos: when you do your all ranges sound tests, I think it would be better to do all of the mallets at a higher dynamic, then all at a lower dynamic, then all mallets rolling. Example: Mars 5 loud, followed by Mars 4 loud, then Mars 3 loud, Mars 2 loud, and Mars 1 loud, then Mars 5 soft, Mars 4 soft, Mars 3 soft, Mars 2 soft, Mars 1 soft, followed by Mars 5 rolls, Mars 4 rolls, Mars 3 rolls, and so on. I say this because I think it would be easier to tell the difference in the sound between each mallet, rather than the differences in sound a specific mallet can make. Doing it this way, you can still make a sort of list of what mallet(s) sound best at whatever volume in whatever range. Thanks for the videos and the interest to go into mallet percussion that you've brought into my life.

I like how these mallets are articulate without being too harsh on either end of the spectrum. I also like how the soft mallets don’t sound that bad up high and vice versa with the hard.

I personally liked 4 and 1 the most. But of course, i was not in the room so idk for sure, but in this video, i was really impressed by those. I really love your video's, i own a Marimba and soon a marching xylophone myself so it's nice to see other percussionists :-) I also immediately subscribed to your channel, really love it!

david garcia Mmmm that’d be interesting! Definitely I think the weight is almost the same, but the sound of the jupiter overall is more muffled because of the looser wrap and big heads. I don’t have the new design ones either so maybe it wouldn’t be fair ahaha

I know it's been 4 years since you commented, but here's 0G's post on a bunch of percussion-related subreddits from a couple years ago: Hello. I am Jake, founder of 0gravity percussion. I'll start off by saying I am so sorry for everyone who fell victim to my mistakes. I was a college kid who got way in over his head, panicked, and fled the scene. The shop (my dad's living room) got flooded with orders after that Adam Tan video, and I just couldn't keep up with the demand. While there is no good excuse, I feel like I do owe you some sort of an explanation - "my side" of the story. On top of the difficulties of a rapidly growing small business, going to school full time, working a part time job, and being a full-time fiance, I was struck with competing companies and percussion powerhouses trying to keep 0gravity down. Companies call their suppliers telling them to not sell to me, so I had to find more expensive supplies. The percussion heads at the college I was going to threatened to sue me because I was telling people I had been their student (which is 100% true, don't know why they were doing that), and one competitor even review bombed my Facebook, and trash talked me to everyone they could on their private accounts. This was all at the very beginning, when things were going really well for me any my customers. Despite their efforts, 0gravity mallets sold well - too well. I simply could not keep up. I made the mistake of selling mallets I didn't have - I should have only sold what I had in stock. Then, I made the mistake of trying to handle everything myself instead of getting some professional help. Then, I made the mistake of not doing everything I could to make things right. I reached out to many people and gave refunds when requested, but it wasn't enough. People slipped through the cracks, and it wasn't enough. I am now an elementary school music teacher. It's my first year as a certified teacher. I've spent the past couple years saving thousands of dollars to make sure I could give every single people who slipped through the cracks what they deserve. I am good at making mallets, and I can be good at business when I'm not trying to also get a degree. Malletsmithing is one of my passions. I'm starting the shop back up, but it will not be right to start selling mallets until everyone I wronged is settled. While there were definitely some people just trying to break me down, there are absolutely legitimate grievances for how I hanldled all of this. Please, if you were one of those people who never received their mallets, or were simply unhappy with their purchase, contact me and I will make things right. If you know anyone who had a sour experience with me or my company, please send them my way. The phone number still works. tl;dr: I messed up, and I want to fix it.

UPDATE: It's been 5 years, and everyone's talking about how they're out of business. This video led me down a rabbithole, which ended in a Reddit post a couple years ago from Jake, the founder and sole employee of 0gravity. In a nutshell he's just a sweet, honest college kid trying to make a buck who thought he'd take a stab at making mallets, found out he's really good at it, but right off the bat got threatened by big companies and even his school, kept going anyway and had a bit of success, but from the popularity this video brought him tons of orders but not enough inventory, resulting in him having bit off way more than he could chew and going out of business. If you bought his mallets but never recieved them, he's still refunding upon request.
