Crypt here, the full storyline does involve an entire "part 2" where Ja'ziir does betray you at the end of the current storyline, he steals the tomes and gives them to the Ognok Clan in their homeland and the pt2 of this mod would be traveling to glacial environment with a big orcish city where the Ognok clans are based from, and you would go through a questline of killing all of the Ognok elders and reclaiming the Bloodlight Tomes. The storyline afterward would actually lead you back to mainland Skyrim to hunt down and kill Jaziir and become the "god" of bloodlight magic. Unfortunately it's unlikely that I'll be able to develop all of this but that is the full storyline.

I had a thought. The creators behind some of these quest mods are not gameplay designers. Putting together a narrative is one thing. Designing combat that is balanced is another. I think the goal should always be to make combat fair and still challenging. Now I don't make mods so I don't know how difficulty works with a mod, but I don't think a lot of mod authors account for difficulty. Fighting an enemy on novice is very different from fighting that same enemy on legendary.

Crypt here, I will admit that I struggle a lot with difficulty scaling because there's really a lot that goes into it. At initial stages, this mod was intended for +50 lvl chars, and then I tried to adapt it to around +20 characters, there's unfortunately some overlap in how that turned out. I'm hoping to revisit this mod and try to figure out a realistic scaling but its honestly a lot of work

@@cryptdk2400 Yeah I don't doubt it. I had said in my other comment that maybe creators should try designing arenas with obstacles that you have to think through and overcome while fighting. Rather than having say 20 enemies coming at you at once you could create difficulty in other ways. Like maybe having soul gems shooting fireballs that you have to dodge and maybe there is some hidden way to deactivate them. The way combat encounters are in a lot of mods feels like fighting a dragon with a level one character and basic gear on legendary. Fighting large groups of enemies all at once or bosses that are just overpowered stops being fun when you have to resort to potion spamming. I don't know though. It really has to be a tricky thing to balance the combat here.

I find it truly fascinating that Ja'ziir seems to be a mage/scholar like the khajiit from Krein...their names are similar...yes?

The mage scholar in Krein was Szolus. Vazeer was the assassin.

That is one thing that drives me crazy about quest mods. The creator's idea of difficulty is having you face an army of enemies all at one time. First of all that is not creative in the slightest. Here is an idea, how about create an arena with obstacles you have to overcome or opportunities that are might not be immediately obvious but you can take advantage of. Something other than "ok here is 40 enemies to pound you into oblivion unless you potion spam...or just straight up cheat". I don't think I have seen a single quest mod where the combat is balanced.

Yeah, a bit more polish is definitely in order for this mod, as has been shown several times with dialogue boxes. Alfie! You started me !! lol. As I mentioned in episode one, there could be a lot more placement of interesting locations along the pathways. That multiple marker issue also bothered me, and I mentioned that on the mod page too. The marker for Karstaug also led me to the exit door, not the entrance (not sure if mod has been updated since I first installed it). Slaves don't get clothes was my head canon when I kept running into them. Skyrim being Skyrim with Draugr outside of their sarcophagi, I see that a lot like at the ruins near Falkreath. No Step On Snek! I agree with the leveling challenge being high enough to keep it interesting. I'm probably going to run through the locations I've already been in as well, because I'm not 100% certain I did everything you've done.

I feel like the mod author left their debug tip messages in the finished mod... "counter reached" sounds like one such thing. Hmmmmm. That quest log reference to "player" too...

Crypt here, I actually lost the original script files that included the debug tips. The main issue is that this mod was originally built in Oldrim and at some point I lost all of the source files for the scripts, so there are still some debug messages that show and I would have to go back and fully rebuild the scripts that caused these. I chose to release it as is because of how much time and effort it would take me to do so, it's not off the table but it's going to be a lot of effort to rewrite these early scripts and make sure they work in current versions.

George, I want to say again How much I appreciate all the work you do on putting out these Playthroughs/Showcases...Thank you very much! I wouldn't have known about them otherwise, I'm putting together a list of quest mods to download on my B-Day which is coming up on the 25th, I'll be 34 this year. One thing I've struggled with is figuring out how to download Beyond Skyrim:The Reach. 1:Is it still available? and 2: How do I get it to work?

I have vortex and I've had mountains of trouble configuring some of these mods on PC...I have tried several times and the alert comes up and says I'm missing some of the requirements even though I downloaded everything it asks for. I need a video or something that'll walk me through properly installing mods for Skyrim on PC..I do not have script extender or vanilla Skyrim..only special edition/anniversary upgrade.

If you have the Detect Dead spell...it helps to identify which Draghr are actually up and about...that way you can sneak attack them. (Im trying to say this without it being an oxymoron or me sounding like one) 😂
