Hi! Thanks for your review! I just purchased a new Subaru Forester-silver 3 weeks ago & l too am very happy w/ my purchased. I just order a cargo net online to keep items from rolling around in the back.

I bought a 2025 Forester Base trim in the pearl white exterior color last month and I really like the car. It has almost everything I needed without the options I didn't want that come standard on the more premium Forester trim levels. I also shopped and test drove the Toyota RAV4 TRD trim but the TRD's MSRP was about $10,000 more than the Subaru Base trim MSRP and the Subaru handled better and had the better AWD system. I like driving my Forester because it is a well engineered, well designed car that handles and rides well. No regrets over not paying $10K more for Toyota.

I’m glad to hear you’re happy with the purchase! My Wife also drove a RAV4 before we fully committed to the 25 Forester and she also felt that this vehicle just felt better overall. Thanks for watching!!

Bought mine in Canada in black sillica color. The trim in canadas are different than the ones in USA and comes with a lot of prepacked features you don't have to pay for basically. I went from a mazda CX5 to forester 2025 and I have to say it feels very safe to drive that new car. Not sure if its the way the suspensions are setup and the overall weight of the car but I enjoy driving it a lot. Sound also is better than thr cX5 , I dont have the top end sound system as well.

I wish you reviewers would fold down the rear seats and tell us if there is a flat floor or not and the length of the cargo floor--back door to back of front seats. Many of us want these SUV to camp in. Is there enough room for a 5'7" person to sleep?
@lennygarrison6836
@lennygarrison6836 Ай бұрын
Definitely enough room to sleep in. It’s not a completely flat load floor when the rear seats are folded, but it’s pretty close.
@DanielAcostaAZ

The Outback has a longer cargo area so more room for sleeping.

They’re definitely not for everyone. But since good AWD and safety are some of our highest priorities it works for us. I’d still recommend you test drive a lot of different vehicles back to back to get a good feel for them and how they compare to each other. Best of luck!! 🙂

It’s a nice looking car, and I traditionally didn’t like the forester, preferred the OUTback as the bigger Subaru. When my 23 Crosstrek lease is done, this is a top contender for a bigger SUV now.

@@AutomotiveAnonymous208 kzbin.info/www/bejne/qWbWgHR4q6h2m7s I found this review on the 2025 Forester Sport. She takes it off-road and it's amazing how well it does. I know you have the Premium but that trim might be even better off-road without the 19" rims. Check out how well it did going up that pretty steep hill.

Thank you. The stubby but tall cargo capacity shape is a deal breaker for me over an Outback, which is long enough for a nearly 6 ft person to car/camp or sleep in with rear seats down and front seats moved forward. Turns out they actually shrank it from the previous generation. Also, it's now heavier and has less power, though reportedly tuned for more torque at lower RMM's so slogging through town it might feel more responsive. The interior looks better overall though. But now it's burdened with the now ubiquitous giant touchscreen that has virtually all controls on it instead of much preferred physical buttons. Word is the upcoming redesigned 2026 Outback will thankfully have more physical buttons again, hopefully more like the optimal 2018-2019 Outback dash layout.

I got 30.4 MPG on my trip from South Jersey to Virginia Beach last week in my '21 Outback Premium 2.5L. The trip computer was a little more generous and showed about 31.1 MPG. It was mixed driving on US Rt 13 the whole way. I traveled at speeds between 35 MPH to 65 MPH

I'm able to top 30MPG in my 2019 Outback 3.6R with the CVT on flat highways and careful pedal control. Point being is the 3.6R was a great mill. Silky smooth, decent power (not as fast as a 2.4T) and can yield very respectable real-world MPG in a jacked-up wagon with full-time AWD. Such a shame they got rid of it.

Hi Thanks for the review. I saw an article today on MotorBiscuit that said… “Passengers can’t connect phones while the vehicle is in motion “. I was wondering in your travels if you have experienced this?
@AutomotiveAnonymous208
@AutomotiveAnonymous208 Ай бұрын
Of course, and thanks for bringing up a good point! I’m pretty sure what that means is you can’t connect a ‘new’ device while driving. So basically anyone in the car who plans to play music or use their phone through the car should set that up before you start driving. Phones that have already established connections to the car can probably switch around while driving. But without testing it I can’t confirm this right now. 😅

Would you recommend to install tow hitch at the dealership?
@AutomotiveAnonymous208
@AutomotiveAnonymous208 Ай бұрын
I don’t tow so I’m unsure how involved it is and taking off the rear bumper. If someone doesn’t want the hassle of it or is not mechanically experienced enough to comfortably do it themselves, then yes absolutely! It’s probably worth having the peace of mind knowing it’s done right, especially where it’s both structural and cosmetic focused.

Subarus are notoriously loud and clanky. I have a 2020 Forester Sport. Its sport in name only. Underpowered and noisy is how i feel. Cant wait to get rid of it. But as ppl mentioned, visibility and safety features are great but everything else not even average

LOL. Yep, the boxer configuration they sound like an old tractor engine at idle. But so inherently smooth upon higher revs. No power robbing added balance shafts needed. Again, due to the inherently smooth physics of the boxer engine. If it could have an aftermarket exhaust and crossover pipe like a tuned WRX they sound sweet - Like a tough-rumbling sewing machine. Seriously!

Actually no. This should be the last model designed with it. When it was introduced on the redesigned Outback for 2020, the media hype was incredible. Then reality set in. Gen 1 from 2020- 2022 units were dreadfully slow and buggy. Gen 2 introduced on the Outback in 2023 are much improved in speed and function. Even OK, if not great. Strong indications are the upcoming 2026 Outback will bring back at least some physical bottoms. Probably at least for HVAC. It will also reportedly look like a Land Rover Defender and no longer have a wagon profile. Think: the new Hyundia Sante Fe. Ugh!
