I will say, the engine that went into the DeLorean was eventually used for a rally car in the Renault Alpine A310, and the designers actually did plan an upgraded version with a turbo, but the company went under before it could happen. A V6 twin-turbo is a *perfect* choice for a car that wanted to go fast.

The original engine was not supposed to be the Renault/Pugot 6 cyl. The one that was supposed to be in it was not ready in time for the production line and went over cost, so they settled on the Renault. There were 2 twin Turbos built near the end of production that were supposed to come out the next year, but we all know what happened to Jon DeLorean. Bottom line, the DMC3 was not what he wanted to be when it rolled out.

Kia Stingers are HUGELY underrated cars. Had one for a week as a press tester, and it was awesome at everything. The traction control allows just enough sideways slip without you ending up in a ditch. Fun, quick, and a great GT car too. 😎

Probably unavoidable given the setup on the Warthog: automatic not set up for drag racing, so it won't have a trans brake, which means Alex has to hold the brakes at start in order to build revs and boost. It's still stupid fast, but not strictly a winner against the DeLorean creeping on the start like that. Probably trails by a couple feet in the 1000, if we could get a clean/even start out of it. Which is crazy impressive.

All these people on this drag race channel and apparently next to none of them have seen/heard the 1st gen Stinger? WTF?? I know it didn't sell as well as KIA wanted it to, but it was an amazing car and they still made a decent amount of them. It was affordable, good looking, and moderately quick, so it really baffles me that of all the types of car buyers, the exact people that should've liked it and known about it and bought it, so few people seem to be hip to it. I think Albert Bierman (the one that ran BMW's M division) was the head of the Stinger project at KIA, so it's built to BMW M standards and performance levels. It has a more luxury oriented twin in the Genesis G70 as well, I believe (basically the same car).

This was sheer amazing! Let's be honest, the Warthog pre-rolling the starts especially in the last heads up is what gave it the resulting 1ft. Nevertheless, this episode had me smiling the whole time. Grew up with both, yet wanted the DeLorean to win SO BADLY lol.

You guys handed the win to the Warthog. 1st of all they sandbagged the 1st race in 2wd. Then you added ballast plus handed the hit. The 2nd race should've been lock the 4wd and run again even Steven. But good video all in fun.

Speaking to the gar guys ad. Working in a body shop we have our chemical supplier (car bright) and they make some of the gnarliest degreasers and cleaning supplies. For a DYI brand I keep a bottle of every car guy product on the shelf. It’s not quite as good as some of the commercial chemicals BUT it is 90% there. Highly HIGHLY recommend!
