Track Name: Counting CIA Disk: 1 Track: 02 Language: German One of the less potent stations. Can still be rather chilling when listening to it in the wee hours -- which I am.

From what I studied about these stations a lot of them were used for war they had radars and would use number codes to let know if enimys were about from theres
@justina19092 жыл бұрын
Actually they where used more for spies or intelligence work, as unlike phone calls or internet communication, you can only track where a radio signal is coming form, not who picks it up. That's why even with modern tech, an old school method like a number station is still used, as its almost foolproof. As the only way you can decode its message is to catch a spy decoding it (with a one time translation page that chaged every broadcast, for example 1 might mean "A" one day but mean "B" the next) in the act.

@@justina1909 Makes sense. They didn’t have Internet and stuff like that back in the 1940s and It’s a good thing too I think the world could do without Internet and cell phones we would be better off because back in the old days people used to just write letters to people if they need to get in touch with them or called them on the phone
@Ellenslife8512 жыл бұрын
@@justina1909 And I believe this is a safer method of going about it especially because there are certain times that the government has to be secretive when it comes to a war or something like that where they’re trying to protect their soldiers and spies. You never know with the Internet if the enemy or terrorist could catch on to the spies whereabouts and snuff them out before They get a chance to stop the criminal activity

I don't know why people find these scary... it's just numbers. It's used for intelligence officers.

It's the ambiance of the distorted mechanic voices saying numbers slowly repeated over and over followed by warning chimes and filled with radio static that creeps people out usually

Ozymandias BY PERCY BYSSHE SHELLEY I met a traveller from an antique land, Who said-“Two vast and trunkless legs of stone Stand in the desert. . . . Near them, on the sand, Half sunk a shattered visage lies, whose frown, And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command, Tell that its sculptor well those passions read Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things, The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed; And on the pedestal, these words appear: My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings; Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair! Nothing beside remains. Round the decay Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare The lone and level sands stretch far away.”
