I may be a foolish man, but i find the chimes eerily comforting. Its almost nostalgic, redembling a childrens program bumper.

If i am not wrong, wouldn't this be some type of military radio frequency? The Buzzer had the same thing but in russian, a woman reading a few numbers and letters which is a military code that cna be only dechipered by the reciever, or a military radio wave for testing radio operators and training them

The crazy thing is these numbers needed an OTP or one time pad to decode them. Thing is they were called one time for a reason cause after youve decoded it you destroy the OTP. So in theory, these codes are literally impossible to decode.

For as creepy as this numbers station is, Swedish Rhapsody is also now one of the least mysterious. The Polish Government, the station’s operators, declassified mostly everything about it. You can read documents about the operating guidelines and procedures, tips for agents to listen to this without getting caught like “it is not recommended to record the transmission on a tape recorder due to difficulty of fast destruction” or “don’t listen to this in a public place like a hotel, park, train station, etc”. I don’t know, to me it kind of humanizes the whole thing and demystifies it. This was just an every day part of someone’s job, and when you think about it, that’s what most numbers stations pretty much are. The only reason some of them are so unnervingly creepy is because some intelligence officers probably got a laugh picking station ID’s/markers that would creep out most casual civilian listeners enough to stop listening
