Thanks Dave another great tutorial series. I really have learned alot from your videos, and have built a yagi from a TV antenna for my scanner idea from your video. Now this summer I'll try making a SW dipole to replace my SW 50' longwire.

I highly appreciate you giving the dimensions in mm either. Thanks.

We use inches here in Sweden too, but we call them 'thumbs' because an inch is about the width of a thumb, so that can be useful if you dont have a ruler or calipers. It could be because im so used to it, but i dont understand why anybody would use 'thumbs', pints or gallons when we have a great universal system for measuring units.

Watching you do this I was thinking that it may make it easier to get the wires through the holes if they were slanted just a little so the inside was nearer the end. Now I know there may be a reason not to do that. And I have not made one, but just by looking at you do this I just thought it may make it just a little easier.

Dave, not sure if you're still monitoring this, but your video is awesome. I'm building my own Dipole and wanted to build my own Balun. Your video is just what I needed! Awesome job!! W1SAM

I made one of these and it was much easier to pull the wires through if the holes were drilled at more of an angle.

How many feet of wire do you think it took?

What band does this one tune the best for? I'm looking to make one for 10-11 meter. So would it be the same dimensions and number of turns?

I made it almost according to Dave's Instructions, but I cut the wire into 3 lengths and "trifilar" wound it (all 3 coils at the same time, side by side)

How many watts will that wire take?

I'm wondering why bother with tape to mark the form? Sharpie will work fine on bare PVC and the marks will be hidden when it's put into the outer pipe. The only reason i can think to need the tape is if you are using black plastic.

what size spool of wire is that ?

Hi Dave, question: in your first episode you mentioned the coilform to be 3/4 inch is 19mm but in this one you ask for at least 25mm. 25 mm Pipe is hard to get. Will 3/4 inch do? thanks in advance and for the good instructions. 73 Herman PA3EHZ
@DavidMitchell792 жыл бұрын
Dave specified a 3/4" (19mm) pipe, that is the inner diameter. The outer diameter would be near 1" (25.6mm). Hope that helps. 73, the other Dave KJ7WUZ
