0:47 How is this design useful when I need to place blocks at the same height as the bedrock in order to make the design that can break bedrock that is above it? (The redstone blocks at 0:27)

True... it was ment for things like gateways, and you could use the one facing down for nether ceiling and so, but I guess there are cases where you can't use it If you have blocks in that space, maybe you can just power them with levers?

Well i have a 4 block space between a blaze spawner and the bedrock wall. I want to make a blaze farm. Blowing stuff up near a spawner without blowing up the spawner should be fun.

You can get up to the ceiling first with the ladder and pearl trick, then you can break bedrock below you easier.

This does not work anymore as of 1.20.4, you can still blow off the piston heads but bedrock will not break
