Not calling a penalty for the hit on Poehling was pretty bad but what made it worse was them calling a penalty on Risto for the little hit on Pageau. Just so bad and inconsistent.

Jamie got beat along the wall twice in the 3rd period. Bailed out twice by Sam Ersson. Thats exactly what Tortorella is making reference to in the presser. Zamula let a winger go around him and Ersson got run over because of it. Zamula and Risto were a comedy act on Isles 3rd goal. Sanheim is hardly better than the rest of d core. He has 1 goal in the last 28 games. Brink can't score. Tippet can't score. Foerster can't score. Michkov has tanked. Couturier can't handle more than 12 minute a game. Basically Tortorella has deemed Cates the savior. Sam Butler disappeared with a 19-14 record. Tortorella is 20-20. He has 1 month to go on a huge run or his career is over. And he's taking the USS Philadelphia Flyers to the bottom along with him.

Good thing the reporters didn't ask him about Jamies disastrous efforts in the 3rd period. The problem with Jamie is that when he's trying to defend he needs to throw his stick away. He's got the worst stick on d in the league. If he sawed off the blade it would be an improvement. Then we have Sanheim who was on the ice for 2 goals. Another 27 minute game when he has nothing left. The Barzal goal was a complete derelict of duty. Just mailed it in Jamie style on that play. Then we have Big Macvie Michkov who has 2 goals in the last 19 games. This guy didn't train very much in the off season thats for sure. Tortorella was not happy with this game. The Islanders are a tragedy on top of a joke, they were gawd awful the entire game. Look at Tortorellas mannerisms in this interview. He knows he's in big big trouble. Look at Stan Butler coach and GM of the Erie Otters, Jamies old junior team as well as Connor McDavid, and probably number 1 draft pick this year Matthew Schaeffer. Stan Butler has suddenly disappeared. The Erie Otters announced today that "we are reviewing team policy" whatever that means. I think it means they're broke and have to do a "Carter H" if you get my drift. They were about to relocate in 2019 to Hamilton but escaped the reaper. Why does this matter? Its a canary in the anthracite coal mine. I think Tortorella won't keep his job past 4 nations. This team has to be a stanley cup finalist team right now or its SHTF Stan Butler style for Johnny T.

NHL considers the Poehling hit legal. Why? Because he made contact with his shoulder first, before driving through his head. NHL too dumb to fix problem, players have to do it themselves. Get a lawyer and start collecting data now for personal or class action law suit.

Gawd, The Broad street bullies turned into a bunch of crybabies That was a text book CLEAN hit. Feet were planted on the ice, glided into the hit. Shoulder to shoulder contact. What's eh supposed to do, just let that Philly player waltz from the corner right in front of the net. It was 100% a pure hockey play. As a side note. Put on a suit Torts ya bum. You're coaching an NHL team not some putz south Philly beer league

That was not shoulder to shoulder contact. If you look at the hit from different angles, it was shoulder to head contact. That was a negligent call by the ref. They didn't even call a penalty when Konecny got slashed. But called it when one of our own did it. It was clear favoritism. But either way, the Islanders lost. So, that's justice in itself.
