Autoart makes their stuff in plastic now, I have four diecast American models and a diecast Diablo but won't pay as much as Autoarts are for plastic. This is the one model I wish I could find or they would make again. I buy Acme now as I only collect 50s and 60s American models.

I own this exact model, and it is truly the finest 1/18th scale of the 59 Caddy out there except a few items of scale they overlooked. The door handles, the V emblems on the hood and trunk and the front fender curb guides were too thick. If they had been more to scale, this unit would have been flawless.

My model car is not in the best condition, and several parts like rear view mirror are gone, but still it’s a good model, I paid 125 bucks for it

I'm aware of your extensive diecast collection and overall knowledge and I congratulate you on this purchase. This 1/18 Autoart Cadillac is a very nice replica and has (as you noted) appreciated considerable on secondary markets, but it does, however, contain several flaws. Most notably, this brown color is not historically accurate. That is, Cadillac never offered these colors (interior too) in 1959. Only AA's red (Seminole red) is correct. Secondly, the trunk replication is simply all wrong: Incorrect hinges, incorrect black paint (trunk underside), incorrect spare location, cover & color, and incorrect trunk mat. The absence of a RF mounted antenna and oddly shaped Cadillac "crests & Vs" should also be noted. Of course, none of these mistakes are deal breakers but they're "miss-steps" nonetheless.
