Hi dwain what's your take on sprints with a weighted vest?
@DwainChambers9 ай бұрын
Ok to use during GDP (general development phase) / when doing pre season training. Once you enter into GSP (general specific phase / SPP (sports specific phase), then the use of a weighted vest will not be required as it isn't specific to the sport of discipline you're preparing for.

@@DwainChambers ok thanks, but I pulled my hamstring sprinting 60 meters with it only 3kg vest I used. But it seemed awkward. I did hill sprint 2 days before using the weight vest. Do you think it maybe throw off my mechanics causing the injury? Many thanks

Speaking of blocks 🐐, I remember in 2012 in the heats you had your arms wide and you had a good start in the heats, do you recommend narrow or wide arms?

Could you dissect that start for us
@DwainChambers9 ай бұрын
The use of wide or narrow arms on the start line falls down to what works for the athlete. Wide arm width points you down and lowers your centre of gravity and encourages an aggressive start. It also limits how high your thighs and hips can be raised. Narrow arms makes you more streamlined and minimises any waisted energy with side to side movements.
