This video production is first class, both in presentation, and camera operation! Needless to say, the Japanese Women Karate Team were not only faultless but gave a performance which leaves one gasping in admiration at their combined awesome ability. [Thankfully too, there is no accompanying verbal commentary to spoil the event.] Thank you all so much for everything that has contributed towards its success. This extremely high level of attainment is surely as good as it can ever get. I really cannot imagine how it could be bettered.
@geoffberesford7 жыл бұрын
Well, from a cameraman's point of view, maybe so, but it's still better than many of the martial art presentations in terms of camera work and editing.

Watching this makes me tearful. This is the pinnacle of pure, human art. It’s mastered to an extreme level of perfection through years of tenacity and you can just feel it through them.
As someone who does karate myself this unison is absolutely amazing, although I am unfamiliar with the wkf style, it is amazing to watch how different each organisation is yet so similar.
Goosebumps and tears. Epic team kata and bunkai was stunning and breathtaking. Never seen skills, focus and determinahtion at that level either. I bow to you girls in deep respect. Oss!!

This is the essence of kata...Timing, Syncronization and execution. Well done ladies.
I'm not very familiar with Karate championships although the kata is something I like to watch, this was very spectacular and compared to some of the others I've seen, this was the most realistic. Not a follower of Karate but this performance was so amazing I've watched this video many times.
@aabdo211 жыл бұрын

The unison of timing, is stunning and remarkable. Osu.

That Japanese precision and work ethic - beautiful! Of course you'd expect Japan to win, after all, it's their sport and they have been doing it for hundreds of years. Well done, Japan, you are awesome!
@sam040194913 жыл бұрын
Not really. As an Englishman, we invented cricket and football, were rubbish at both. Not to mention every other game that we’ve invented. So very well done to Japan for remaining at the top of their game. Beautiful demonstration.

Always loved when a Japanese karateka played kata They're always more focus and their kihon, bunkai and technique were incredible! Better than European I guess

Well Japan is better yeah. But France performs really well too (that championship in the video was actually held in France). And the other countries that are good in karate are in Europe.

To be honest. You must dig in to know what judge actually mean. Probably they used to do this decades ago, and am sure you and me have no know how to even basics of this art. They will still find errors and room for improvement. Rest assured on that.

"Osu" is made up of two kanji, "o" meaning to "push" which symbolizes one hundred percent effort and "su" means to "endure". Combined, "osu" is a pledge to do one's best and endure. The martial arts require a great deal of discipline, which involves a great deal of self-reflection, and self-reflection is more concerned with irrefutable truths than with rewards.

Amazing. I have studied Karate since the early 1960's and way back then women were an oddity. I don't know about the contest scoring but as a demonstration for the audience this was top notch.
I haver studied Nippon, Chinese and Korean martial arts for thirty years. However the synchronicity and power focus of this routine has baring on life focus.
