i'm a bit confused on for-profit publicly held companies. does public mean that their shares are being on the stock market or that their goods and services are accessible to the public? what is meant by public in this context.

in this case the company is able to advertise and sell its SHARES to the general PUBLIC via a stock exchange.

What is the difference between incorporated and limited liability? and would you automatically have limited liability if you become incorporated?

Incorporated means to have separate legal identities between the owner and the business, limited liability is when your liability for said business is limited to the amount you invested. And to answer your question, yes since you are two separate legal entities your liability for that company is limited.
