1,200 LBFT OF TORQUE?! The New High-Output Ford F-450!

For 3 years, our Jeep Wrangler was our home. And then we bought an actual home...and continued to travel so much, that we're practically never there. Instead, we now find ourselves living out of our Ford F-450 Platinum. But when we bought our Ford Bronco Badlands a year and a half ago, we also put in an order for another F-450 (knowing it would take Ford forever to build/deliver the truck). And sure enough...nearly two years later, it's finally here!

After waiting for my 2023 F450 Limited since last Oct, I jumped the ship to Ram 3500 DRW Limited HO 6.7 , 6 speed Aisin , Night edition, Crew Cab , 4.1.with Rear Auto Leveling. I waited 11 months for F450 Limited. Ram gave me 7k off msrp and gave me 60k for my 54k mile driven 2020 F350 DRW 6.7. Great thing about Ram is that it has TPMS and not much drama on tires.. F450 has lots more dramas that you have to install TPMS, Centramatics.. and more...

I work on the PSCM for that truck! I'd love to hear your thoughts on the features like lane centering assist, or pro trailer backup assist. In my opinion, it is incredible how well such a huge truck handles these advanced features. It still has a beefy hydraulic steering system, but with an electronic steering torque overlay on the input side that adds in the advanced features (thats my part). Best of both worlds!

Nice truck Britney and Kevin. Not much of a Ford fan but if I would buy a truck, it would be a King Rangh. We bought a Mustain back in early 2000s off the show room floor (red convertible) and drove it until I wreck it in 2019. It had over 250,000 miles at the time we lost her. No problems with the car other than normal maintenance issues. Happy motoring.

Considering how in tune you are with decals and vehicle mods... I would advise to do a chrome delete by wrapping over it. that way you get to remove chrome without actually removing chrome and at some point when you are ready to trade in the beast... you just peel everything off and bam you get your super shiny chrome pieces back. Decal body shops wrap cars and parts of cars all the time and I am sure Chris has enough expertise to do this with Britt's blow-dryer and a piece of adhesive vinyl.

I have had both chrome and painted front end, and although I like the look of painted, I do find that after time the road debris chips the paint and the chrome still looks brand new over time.

If you do you own maintenance on it, I would recommend Amsoil. I use Amsoil signature series in my truck for everything, engine oil, transmission, transfer cases, front and rear axles. I got on average 1.5 to 2 miles more per gallon the before. Well worth it and I will never use another brand of oil. And I got 68,250 miles on my 2019 Chevrolet 3500 6.6L and I switched everything over to Amsoil at 12,000 mils. And I did the coolant win I did the recall for the block heater last ago. And I use the HEAVY-DUTY ANTIFREEZE & COOLANT. And I talked to the Amsoil tech and yes you can use it in class C pick ups. And it has a additive in the coolant to help with lubrication of the water pump. And it is compatible with all coolants.

MCS delete was mandatory on late KRs and Platinums for 2023 (for a $300 credit). They are back to standard for 2024 for the top 3 trims.

Awesome truck. I never like the KR since it's tan inside. I like the darker colors. I have been looking at a Limited, but an Ultimate would be next option, but they are higher trims than the KR. I had a 2019 F-250 XLT for work and put about 100K on it in about a year. Never had an issue, except me denting the drive shaft. The newer F150s turned me off to Ford for a long time. from the 2015+. I have a 2013 F150 FX4 and no issues. But had a 2019 F150 V8 and nothing but issues, same with its sister truck. The Super Duties don't seem to have the same issues with them. If the shimming issue you are talking about is the front end shake, the depth wobble. Get a good steering stabilizer. I had the Icon with dual shocks. Never had the shake ever again. Also put a front level kit on it.

FYI. If you are looking for a paper version. You won't find one. It's all integrated into the stereo. Fuse box location, fuses, everything. I have a 2022 F150 BlackWidow and has the same set up as your beautiful new truck.
