I LOVE The Honest Reviews and as you guys are saying, not many other people are willing to do that nor are the companies themself happy about hearing things that need improved on (which doesn't make sense)! I also love that you try to express how much you do love them aside from their faults while expressing that EVERYONE has Faults and the best thing we can do is hear these faults so we can make a decision as to which faults we are willing to deal with along the way!!! Great Job

Couple of things - quick correction - Can Am is $4k more - MSRP - MSRP Pro R Ultimate to new Maverick R X RS with smart shocks - top of the line smart shock cars - I think for most SXS owners comes down to driving position for which car they chose as the cars at this level are all great. Most describe a RZR/Pro R as you sit on it and a Can Am - you sit in it. I prefer the ergonomics of the RZR - but many other prefer the Can Am - got to go sit in both to decide - I have a Pro R and drove a new Can Am yesterday at Glamis - it is fast for sure - but I will stick with my Pro R! Thank for the honest reviews and what you like and why.

I agree with u on the Can Am being best pick. On the 7 spd real gears, the first downside I see on that is repair cost, if that would be an issue. I would think rebuilding a 7 spd trans vs a single belt would be a big difference in cost. I'm a aircraft/truck mech and if I was looking for an easy fix trans, it would be a CV. The CV transmissions are pretty well race proven, but for the same reason as u did, which has nothing to do with racing, I bought a new F150 with a real, well almost real, 10 spd trans. One of the main reasons I'd also pick the Can Am is the Rotax. These engines are my pick all the time. And having a 1k L turbo rotax is awesome.

Cool video, I like the REAL TRUTH approach. I am surprised at your take on the brakes though, because Desert SXS did a huge comparison with all the major players and the Mav R brakes beat out every other SXS by a big margin. Either way, both machines have their pros and cons as always - personally, I would choose the Mav R just for the lower CG alone.

If Kevin wants a machine that is twitchy, where you feel the ride, my old 50 inch early model RZR 800 is the tool for you. You have to drive it, pick great lines, and use a fair bit of skill to keep upright at times. That said, it can be a real blast to drive at any sort of speed. It of course has a belt drive, which I hate, and Polaris front differentials don't lock until the rear spins which results in you having to use more of a send it approach to rock crawling than a creep approach. It really helps improve your driving skills though.

Love it... "where's the fuel fill". OMG, just hilarious. The smart-shock vs live valve thing... Polaris has that wrapped up, WHEN it works. Once it doesn't work, or you have problems... you're SOL. Same with Smart-shocks. I prefer not to have bells/whistles do the adjustments for me (when they're working correctly)... and to manually adjust for the terrain I'm in or how the vehicle is setup. Think about this... you don't have smart shocks or live valve in your Jeep do you?? :) I bought the Mav-R just as why you guys were describing the YXZ. I have one of those too. However, with a manual clutch. Talk about a blast. I also have long travel on the YXZ and it's a huge difference but you still need to drive it. Can't go slow through the big stuff. The Mav-R bridges some of those gaps... and suits me, since I said I'll never own a belted car. Just don't want the hassle, as I've watched SO MANY folks in my group hassle with blown belts and pieces of belt stuck in places hard to get out. Just not my deal. Plus... a 7-speed gearbox capable of shift on the fly low to high and vice-a-versa?! Awesome. Getting the power to the tires via a clutch, and not a CVT? SOLD!! The price tag should be an issue, with the fit and finish of some of the plastics. Our glove box is the same. What kind of 2yr old made those molds and latches?! Horrible!!! But I didn't buy the car for the glovebox or glovebox space. So... there's that. And YES, there is Navigation. How'd you miss it?? GO BRP, and via a connected cell phone gives you a map that you can create rides, share rides, etc. BUT... you have to connect a cell phone to the display that can run the GO BRP app.

I am actually surprised by the comments about fit and finish on the Can Am. I have not seen the MavR in person yet, but I have owned Polaris machines and always complained about fit/finish on them. I switched to CanAm because I thought they were built with more attention to quality. But I’m also dealing with ATVs and utility SxS and not first year models. My guess is CanAm will get it squared away in later years. For decades Polaris was always the running joke for poor quality and reliability. Hopefully CanAm is not slipping into that rutile.

I saw 3 mav r breakdown at utv takeover sand hollow. Two sway bars broke and one bent a arm that happened right infront of me while following in my pro r. They need to work on alot more than fit and finish the suspension in the rear even with smart shox bucks like crazy its too soft. I remember back in the day when the Yamaha Rhino 660 came out and it was so sporty😅. 2 seater with dump bed. Everyone bolted the bed down and put child seats in back with a new custom roll cage. So fast with 29 horsepower and could top out around 45mph. I remember thinking "damn, I wish I could afford one but $8000 is pretty steep" lol. Those were the days. You were so cool if you drove around the other utility 2 seat sxs's. But then Polaris came out with the RZR. The first actual sport sxs. It was faster, better looking, and it really started off the sxs trends. Now, $50k is ridiculous! I could buy a sandrail with King suspension and a 600hp V8. The pricing has simply got out of hand. Think about that. You can probably purchase a new vehicle from 75% of all current production vehicles for sale (like a 2024 Mustang GT, 2024 Chevy Silveradob1500, 2024 BMW 5 series, the new 2024 Nissan Z, and many more.

$50,000 , I should have kept the VW and the Corvair dune buggies I built in 1965 & 66. The Corvair was faster but the VW rode so much better. Great video, I lived in Layton UT for 8 years but had to move back to SnoHio.

DCT vs CVT,... Kevin, you are correct sir. As for fit and finish, looks about normal for Made In America.

I once rented and a Ford eco-boost and found the button for opening the trunk located underneath a tail light. Go figure on why they hide things like that. Ecosport. Not eco boost.

Pretty much all the popular m/t tires are available in 315/75/16 (also known as a 35"). Even the nitto trail grapplers.

What you’re referring to aren’t sxs tires - way too heavy & way too wide.

So it's got a dual clutch trans!!! Yeah i always hate the belt drive. Me and my dad went in on a Yamaha when they were still affordable haha and it's fun! Paid 9k and put about 4 in it. Wheels tires blah blah and it's a beast! I would like the auto clutch as crawling is hell on my pads and basket. Anyway looks nice!

The nice thing with the polaris now is you can get a brand new pro R 2 seat for 35k... Yes, the launch addition was 50k but now, years later, they are 10k less than the canam.

We just bought the maverick R. The rig is amazing. Id take it hands down over the rzr pro. I do love polaris and have owned alot of them but this year canam really set the bar high. And yes my polaris has had its share of fitment issues as well.

I think you got a lemon mine is not like that that. I did have the hood latch problem like everybody else but other than that my gaps and plastic are fine and the rest of the machine is incredible.
