The trouble is Stangs chassis is too damn heavy. The S550 needs to shed weight. The engine is a monster. Hope Ford makes an S650 GT500 with a chassis thats at least 200 lbs lighter than current one.

I tried to Cosworth build an 18 S550 Mustang and despite stripping here to bare bones she still was significantly heavier than GM Alpha Camaros and most other cars with wheel base comparable to its length. I didn't say its a weak chassis. Its capable and good to work on. But its heavy which always makes for some extra demand of engine power for keeping up with rivals.

@@rhett7716 500 is cheaper but also not reliable anymore even by mclaren standards ... 765lt is completely stock drive to track beat shit out of it and drive across country if you want I wouldn't trust the 500 anymore for long distance road trips after what I went through on my previous gen and my ctsv once you mod them that far there's heat issues especially when it's hot and the mclaren literally comes off showroom floor this way still probably 200k more than the ford but so are lambos and ferraris and they aren't close to this fast until hypercar territory in the million plus range

Surprised the GT500’s stock DCT can handle the power/torque. Emelia Hartford had to upgrade the clutches in her C8 because they couldn’t handle much more than about 600 ft.lbs.

Yes. Once it gripped, it was keeping up if not gaining slightly. However, it seems the mustang has an issue with that first shift. A large gap between that first to second gear shift makes it a little slow. Otherwise an awesome machine.

@@StrykerV8 for sure. Think about demonology. Only thing factory is the chassis and it’s just breaking into the 8s . 100k car and probably 70k into it. This is why he is building a mustang in the background and a lot of other mopar guys have switched.Gt500 the base one like kens can be bought for 70k and he charges 40-50k for the package and the c means carbon fiber in the cx1100 and that’s where most of he cost is. Stock trans heads motor and fuel system. Just trans clutches and or a fuel system I think that package will do 8s Without the carbon you can run 9.6 with e85 exhaust tires tune supercharger pulley basic stuff that will cost you 10k or under. There is a big difference in fanboys and car his. Car guys love and respect what cars can do. Fanboy will stick there life savings and there house into there brand and have every excuse in the world why they are still slow. Now shmee. He is a car guy. He has a variety of cars and respects all of them for what they do. Lamborghini fanboys don’t understand that yeah they are awesome. But cars like the Gallardo will lose to a stock mustang GT. But yet youtubers tend to give into the people that just want to see lambos even if it’s a slow lambo or Ferrari etc. they pay out the ass for a car they don’t even enjoy for the fans. Tim gets what he knows is good even if it isn’t a 300k car and Brookes goes for fast and I also respect that. He wants to go fast and don’t care what people think and don’t care about any one brand.

@@carculturenation2166 unless you got it brand new a GT500 is 100-125k now. Just like the C8s went up in price. Certainly an interesting comparison with the McLaren an some great runs

@@nickadkins7765 for a carbon track pack with the 10k painted stripes they are 100-110k for a base one like ken got they don’t even have the recaro seats they have the heated cooled seats but are cheaper you can get them for 71k new with no stripes. Tack on the handling pack and you are looking at 74k. If you look around you can find them without markups especially in the Midwest.

If you follow Palm Beach Dyno, that car is detuned as the clutches quickly overheat and goes into limp mode. John Lund already has one as I write this tonight right now running high 8's. Once clutches and trans tuning is available, gonna be tough even for Mclaren's. Having said that, I love them both(I own a stock 2020 GT500).
