1/24 scale Italeri Fiat 131 Abarth is a great fit for the wide domed tires and makes the chassis longer (motor lower) and a whole lot easier to drift.

Not sure all that weight is necessary tho. I would highly suggest just messing around with the electronics arrangements and suspensions. Front should be higher than the back and you're golden.

10 hours?! Good lord. It looks so good though… I might still need to do this body too.

Try 3M body adhesive tape for the body magnets 10 times stronger than servo tape and doesn’t look as shitty as hot glue. had mine on there for six months still hasn’t come off

Nice Fiat body! Overall do you think this kit is worth the money, time and effort?
@smallmodelcollector2 жыл бұрын
I think it is OK for the price. Not as good as a Japanese kit, but only the clear headlights need to be sanded down to fit better. Decals took forever but it looks good.

Rwd drifting is ten times more fun than awd
@smallmodelcollector3 жыл бұрын
I like how RWD can drift so slow and tight. Will have to see if I can get an AWD to do the same.

Really good job👍 How about WLtoys k969 or k989? What do you think of them? Please tell me where did you get this kit and what does it include in the box. Thank you

With the way that car is handling it isn’t even remotely close to being set up correctly. I have the same car trust me when I tell you your set up is completely wrong. The reason you’re having such problems drifting that car is the set up and the weight you added to the front end.
@danielmoriarty7512 жыл бұрын
The ride height is wrong you’re camber and caster is wrong. Your front inn is way too stiff. Bro you really need to watch some videos on how to properly set up this car you completely screwed up one of the best mini drifters on the market.

You don’t want to add weight to the front end of a rear wheel drive drifter. Also move the motor back up to the top so it helps transfer the weight. It’s not a four-wheel-drive you do not need weight on the front end the ass end of the car as what does all of the work. Adding weight to the front end is going to make the car handle like shit.

You want the rear motor mounted high on a rear wheel drive drifter it helps transfer the weight. Also most of the weight needs to be on the ass end of the car it’s what’s doing all of the steering. It’s not a four-wheel-drive you don’t need weight on the front end.

Stretching the wheelbase helps for sure but having the weight at the center doesn’t help, what you’re trying is not hard so you can pull it out but bigger tracks need the weight more to the rear :p You probably figured out so far!

If you’re having problems keeping the car in a drift adjust the camber caster and tow in. Adding weight to the front end is going to make the car handle like crap also put the motor back up to the upward position it helps weight transfer. Also make sure the ride height is correct. I’ve never seen adding weight to the front end of a 2 Wheel Dr. drifter help The car handle better

Excellent work on the decals!👏 I've started a few Nascar kits but gave up because of the complexity of the decals. Great choice with the Fiat model.👌 Looks like a very enjoyable hobby! If only I had the 💰...👍👌

I was very concerned with these decals but that's why it took 10 hours; slow and careful. As long as you have the decal setter, softener, and time you can do it.

I just ordered this complete set that everyone highly praises for $36. Cheap way to dip your toes into the hobby. www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002782996881.html?spm=a2g0s.12269583.0.0.664ba8d3JysCKq

I might have taken 10 hours, but it turned out amazing. That might be my next body. I love the old rally cars.

That's really nice work on that shell, I love that era of rally too 🤩 shame about the ae86 shell..... if you went for a aoshima 1/24 ae86 they land bang smack on 98mm wheelbase👍....... would you mind sharing the wheelbase of the fiat that you use? Also would you mind sharing the width of the chassis with those wheels you use please? Thanks dude👍

My chassis is 105mm wheelbase and outer wheel width is 71 front /73 rear mm.

@@smallmodelcollector thank you for your reply👍that fiat is so nicely prepared by yourself👍I think I might attempt one after I've finished my 1/24 mk2 escort that I'm doing. I forgot to share on my last message that the wheelbase of the mk2 escort by illetari lands at 98mm too👍

Well done.. the body shell is neat, the balancing methods are so creative, drifting skill is good… man, you’re awesome… i have miniz ma02, i found it’s so difficult to drift.. it’s frustrating… i don’t have any clue to improve it
@smallmodelcollector3 жыл бұрын
I have the old MA010 AWD which looks the same as the Ma02. I can't slow speed drift it indoors; it's too fast. I added the domed tires but it has too much grip on my plastic floor. I also think it can't steer enough to do a slow drift. I'm thinking the chassis has to have extreme tire lock and be a RWD to drift slowly indoors. AWD is for high speed drifts but this wheelbase is too short so it spins out.
