Fantastic build. Your skills are incredible. I can't wait to see the finished thing. I wonder if this kit allows me to build the B-24 with the undercarriage raised.

Brilliant model build. Yes, you may not see every detail that is scratch built, but isn’t that what our hobby is all about, having fun. Well done, looking forward to next video.

Thanks Scoots. I am right now trying to correct the rear turret. It has this horrible seam line in the wrong place! Also finishing up some little details on the inside before closing it up.. I do like the “D” model.

Hello.Some Ds didnt have ball turrets. What i did on my J was to make it drop out and return. As the Kit just has it on the up position. I just made a sleeve. Im doing a D later on.
@inclusivemodeldesigns163 жыл бұрын
It all depended on what plant your B-24 came out of is what options your plane with.( I thinks all late "Ds" came out with the Ball turret?) Then on the battlefield you made changes. Then they made planes as they got damaged etc. Mine will be one from Consolidated. Sounds like you got a cool "J" on the go.... I just with their was more pics out there of the "D".
@leesellars3 жыл бұрын
@@inclusivemodeldesigns16 I have 4 in stock 2 more Js and 2 More Ds. The plan is to do a J in RAF livery and a D in Assembly Livery. keep the Videos coming. You also need the resin wheel set from Eduward as the wheels on the kit are way too big they dont even go in the wheel bay.
@inclusivemodeldesigns163 жыл бұрын
@@leesellars Awesome! Sounds like you got a lot of building ahead of you. Also thanks for the tip. I have not touched the wheels as of yet. I may as well order the aftermarket ones.

I put all the detail inside mine because i enjoy knowing that it is there. When i was a kid at the Air Force Museum, the interior of these planes was a mystery to me. There wasn't nowhere near the information that there is today such as Kermit Weeks video tours and such. Besides, i bought a lizard cam to admire the interiors after closing. Lol! I am getting ready to close the fuselage halves on my HB B-24 D, Hopefully today. My issue with this kit is partly the airfoil but mostly the wing assembly it's self, Closing the wing around the main spar while attached to the fuselage is going to be very awkward on a kit this size. I can see that it will take some planning. Scratch building the nose and radio compartments were a complete blast!
@inclusivemodeldesigns163 жыл бұрын
The one thing I do love about this kit is that you can see a lot of the interior after completion. The wings was not a deal breaker for me because their is no other 1/32 B-24 kit out there. Lizard cam is a cool idea!
@pcj34053 жыл бұрын
@@inclusivemodeldesigns16 Not a deal breaker for me either. Not much of an issue at all from other finished models i have seen but is the biggest cosmetic issue. I am very happy with it. Have you assembled the wings yet? That is my only concern. I have never seen it done that way before. It may not be a big deal. Oh, I have used lizard cam on my Monogram B-17. I too open all interior doors and hatches. It's kinda ghostly like watching some abandoned planes documentary or something lots of fun!

Looks great! Not to be picky, but on the B-24D the A6 tail turret ammo was supplied by two ammo cans in the front of the turret. They were place one in front of the other, and that is why the guns are staggered on the D model. Also, the plate in the tale section is where the hydraulic pump for the rear turret would be mounted. Can not wait for the next video.
@inclusivemodeldesigns163 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the comment. In regards to the ammo cans etc, are you referring to late “D” from consolidated? The National museum has the ammo Rail but no real can placement but 1. This is the problem with lack of “D” interior pics. I’m going for a late “D” this way I can kind of link it more to a “J”.

Nice! Just so you know, that armor thing to the left of the waist gunners is metal, but the back of it is wood. Also at 6:46, that is to store the hydronic fluid that is used for the bomb bay doors, it’s painted a blue green glossy color from what I’ve seen in photos
@inclusivemodeldesigns163 жыл бұрын
Do you have pics of the waist gunners "armor" thing? I guess it's not armor then? Also the Hydronic tank can be painted in the color used in whatever anti rust paint used at the time. I am going off of a pic of a B-24D.
@ScaleMilitaryModels3 жыл бұрын
@@inclusivemodeldesigns16 ok. Have you seen Kermit Week’s tour of his b24? He has the blue tank thing
@inclusivemodeldesigns163 жыл бұрын
@@ScaleMilitaryModels Yup, you bet. If you look close you can see the original anti rust paint was yellowish. Then it was repainted with more of a green. This is all over the plane. Kermits plane of course needs a good job all over because both coats are down to the metal again. When I build my B-24J I will do my interior color more of a green than a yellow. As they went they changed colors. Do you have a link to the waist gunner armor thing? I would like to see what that looked like?
@ScaleMilitaryModels3 жыл бұрын
@@inclusivemodeldesigns16 I will try to find the picture. You should download this app, called Cockpit 360*, it’s a app run by the Dayton air museum, where they have cockpit views (in 360 camera) of all their aircraft. And in bombers, the different positions. They have one for their b24, but theirs is missing that thing
@inclusivemodeldesigns163 жыл бұрын
@@ScaleMilitaryModels That is one of my main resources. I thank you for the support. I wish that they did not put that fake bombardier in there. It’s in the way of the Nordon bomb sight.
