I just started to watch your videos. I noticed it’s been 6 months since you made one. Please don’t quit. I’m going back to watch your old videos now. I’m borderline beginner/intermediate when it comes to building. I’m learning a great deal more than with other channels. Kudos!

Thank you for checking out the videos. I haven't quit but I know it's been a while. The day job has been taking up a lot more time but I'm currently working on another full build video that I hope I can get out over the holiday break. Hope the videos are helpful and thanks again for the feedback.

I really appreciate that, Dyllan. This is a first for me and such a generous surprise. I'm really glad that you have enjoyed the videos and I hope that they continue to be helpful. Had some "life issues" recently preventing me from making more but I hope to get back to the build and video bench soon. Thank you again!

Great to see you back! Might be worth looking at the AIM 120 for the FRS2, as I believe that it was the first British aircraft capable of using it and it was a huge capability upgrade for RN fleet defence....... Looking forward to more!

That was pretty dang funny! Thank you for the laugh. That is the rarest of rare models for sure. I'll be making some build videos for the Harriers in the near future as the rest of the parts are designed and cast. Thanks for the good words and for checking back in here.

It’s very cool that there is so much aftermarket stuff for planes and such. I build cars, and there’s quite a bit, but nothing like what’s available for military models. But we progress, we progress. Keep up the great work!

I need this on my Desk along with the FRS1 and GR3 as soon as they are available . Compare to the Buccaneer - this is a huger step forward - I need to build these First Gen Harriers
@FlyingSModels
@FlyingSModels 2 жыл бұрын
For sure, Colin. These are some great kits indeed. Especially considering that Alan operates as a one man show and given the supply chain challenges brought on by Covid. We have been working to make updates to the Buccaneer kit including lots of new 3D printed parts. Hopefully, Alan will be able to rerelease that kit along with all the updates in the not so distant future. Alan doesn’t plan on casting too many Harriers due to the complexities in the process so make sure to get with him soon to get on the order list. Appreciate the feedback!

@@FlyingSModels Buccaneer - well my one is long since built it . but RAF Pylons would be top of the list I did my own using a Balsa and plasticard master but they need to be 3d printed to do them justice as well as a revamped cockpit - and if he ever fancies re-reasing it - I'll have another !

@@colinritchie1757 great inputs, Colin. Would love to see pics of yours if you want/can share over on my Facebook page. We are planning lots of upgrades to the Buc including those you mentioned as well as a new folding nose section to display the radar, new split air brakes, wheels, gear, weapons, etc. Stay tuned and thank you again for the suggestions. Keep ‘em coming!

Thanks! I'm actually using a pretty low resolution resin printer...Phrozen sonic mini. Much better than the FDM printers for capturing small details.

The intake fan and shroud are badly needed as extras to upgrade the Trumpeter kits too. As supplied, their fan is horrible and rotating in the wrong direction.

Looks nice but flow fences and turbulizer blades on upper wing surface should be done as PE parts rather than casted with a wing. And what about the nozzles?
@FlyingSModels
@FlyingSModels 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback. Lots of modelers shy away from photoetch like that and Alan has done a good job capturing those details in resin. The nozzles are also cast resin and will be presented in the next kit review (FRS or GR.3). They are nicely cast single piece units.

Hi Chad, just wondering if there is any news on the Harriers. I emailed Alan with my order for one of each and would hate to miss out.

@FlyingSModels Жыл бұрын
Hey John, thanks for reaching out. We decided to do a few more 3D printed parts than originally envisioned so it’s taking a bit longer to get everything sorted out. My schedule lately hasn’t helped. But I know Alan is still tracking all orders and will fill them as soon as we get all the parts together. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks for the good words and congrats on the airbrush. You are going to love it. For the Tamiya paints I use their own brand of thinner. Let me know if you have any other questions. Happy Modeling!
@mildey5632
@mildey5632 2 жыл бұрын
@@FlyingSModels would that be the yellow cap lacquer thinner or the X20A? I've read they both work great & that Tamiya's paints are very forgiving in the thinning department.
@FlyingSModels
@FlyingSModels 2 жыл бұрын
@@mildey5632 I use the X20 but either will work. I just don’t like to put too much lacquer in my paints as it can be a little aggressive on the plastic. But you are right in that Tamiya paints are really forgiving and easy to use. Only issue I’ve had and they are slowly fixing that is the lack of some select colors for specific aircraft. Sometimes I have to do some custom mixing.

@@FlyingSModels yeah that's definitely a big problem for a lot of brands. Vallejo interests me a lot, but since I have a large collection of Revell and Humbrol (RIP) enamels I think I'll keep using those for the brush painting, at least until they run out. What do you thin Vallejo with? Appreciate all the help!
@FlyingSModels
@FlyingSModels 2 жыл бұрын
@@mildey5632 While the enamels are nice, you will really like the results you get from Vallejo paints. AK makes some good ones too. I just thin with water when I use them. Hope this helps.
