From TrekWorks:
This is Pt 22 of the 1:350 scale Enterprise Refit build series.
Here I demonstrate how to use the Orbital Drydock painting masks to add the complete aztec panel detail on the warp engine nacelles.

Holy crap, 7 hours on the nacelle? I wonder how much he charges for one of these. . . $5000?? $10,000?? Id be worth it if you could afford it. . .excellent craftsmanship.

Any chance for a link to this special iridescent paint you use? I want to build this model and I'm going to build it EXACTLY how you do because it came out STUNNING!

Quick question, but what kind of paint do you use for the aztec? I have a lacquer based paint. I've never seen someone use a heat gun to help with the drying.

I've checked out Jason's videos on his scratchbuilt Enterprise A model and I think it's spectacular.

Aztec detailing is looking really good there, many hours put in but as you say well worth the effort. Any chance of seeing how you wire up this nacelle and attaching to the pylon? Would love to see how you do this part too.

It strikes me that something as huge as a starship would be an ever-changing system due to wear and tear, upgrades and battle damage. The colors would naturally vary as new panels would be put on, etc. I suspect this notion of the correct colors versus Paul saying that he chose the colors patterns at random would be weighted in more of a semi-random pattern based on this ever-changing reality of a system that we would call a "starship" or in our world, a aircraft carrier or whatever. I'm planning my 1/350 Refit Enterprise to be a little different in the paint scheme due to this acknowledgement of how systems evolve over time ;>)

my jaw has hit the floor. wow just wow man beautiful work. I just got into model building and did a cameo paint job that i needed to do the masking for. after i was done masking i never wanted to do cameo again. I would never ever be able to do this paint job without pulling all the hair off my head and i'm bald!
