A great way to paint mask… I’m definitely going to try this on our 350 refit build as well as other builds… thanks.

3years late, but WOW - I am SO shocked to finally see someone get the inboard emitters color CORRECT !!! Purple,… yessssss. And it looks like a matte or brushed surface; CORRECT ! Now… Just two tiny suggestions: -Use less white. The purple is ‘slightly’ darker. -try to purple-ise the light,… again ‘slightly’- If you don’t do either of these,… you are still MILES ahead of every other build I’ve seen. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 🖖🏽

That is absolute genius! The amount of times i've done this part of the 1:350 build and it always effs up somewhere....using really thin tape didn't work either as it always started to pull up....this is the best method ever. :)

Tape sucks. I had to order replacement parts so I could do this again using the Elmer's maneuver. I don't see how this technique can fail.

I'm going to give this a try. I tried 1mm masking tape, and was unhappy with the result. I switched to 1/32'', and it works quite a bit better. I also painted the curve on the rear of the nacelle by using an oval mask on the back of the part instead of the front. That seems to work well.

If it were possible to do the trenches in translucent blue and the ridges in brass, that would be amazing.

Very nice Idea I will try it when I get to that part of my project, thank you

I never would have considered white glue. Not a bad result.

Your videos have convinced me I can probably handle this project; I ordered the Enterprise 1/350 scale kit this morning. Is your masking kit accessible without going through Facebook?
@maskdesign24783 жыл бұрын
Yes you can send us an email and we can send you the order form, or if you already purchase it through TrekMoleder then once we get the order we ship it and send you an email with the tracking number and instructions.

I tried with the Elmer's glue. It dried!
@maskdesign24783 жыл бұрын
maybe you put to little on but is should still work if the area is covered with a thin layer of glue
@trmblingblustar3 жыл бұрын
@@maskdesign2478 Probably too little, or the wrong kind of glue. I bought some 2/32'' tape that seems to work as well.
@tracytobias93672 жыл бұрын
Fill the whole channel with the glue. Elmers is water-based and easy to work with...as shown in the video here.

i tired this a while back didnt work that well for me. I may try it again when i get to that part. I been trying to figure how are people the curve in the back. i havent seen any mask patters for it.
@maskdesign24783 жыл бұрын
We cut out of some extra black masking a curve pattern and applied it to to back. The final result was prefect

@@maskdesign2478 something you can sell?

@@nerdhobbies5865 If it is just the black masking you are referring to you could just go to Michael's and pick up a 12"x12" piece and cut it to fit. If you are looking for the complete enterprise Aztec masking kit let me know and I can send you an order from or you can visit our Facebook page facebook.com/groups/584658461988249/
