Thanks for this rebuild video Oddball! It is interesting to see the parts and techniques used to backdate the model. Also of note is how great those old ESCI kits were. Heck, before Tamiya released their T-55 kit ESCI had the best one around!

60s and early 70s had M60A1 yours T97 traks and turret had no smokestacks, but in late 70s and early 80s A1 fitted T142 and smoke on gun body. On late 80s visualy look like A3. Two smokestacks on turret, two airbox on sides same type as A3. Many early A1 had not canvas on gun coat /mantel/. Its good, you tried well.

Any idea where I can get replacement tracks for my tamiya T-72? The kit I built had been sitting since 1992. So the tracks were super brittle, broken, and impossible to work with/save. Other than the tracks it's was a great kit. Im starting the M60 now. Thank you.

The firma MINIART made tracks for soviet tanks scala 1/35.Late version of track for T-55AM, T-62 and T-72 is MINIART 37052. Trumpeter made workable tracks 02050. Its easy to find on internet!

get a set of workable links, Friulmodel has a good set so does Masterclub , both should time with the tamiya sprockets and either will look great once fitted. Both sets are also found on ebay, or you can go through Fruli's website. Ordering is a little tricky but they do deliver. Good luck with your 72 rebuild and your M60!

My dad served the army me back in the 80s the original and m60 toad last stored for the ammunition and m60a1 toad got more storage for ammunition and my dad told me that he serve the armored cavalry tank battalion tank driver and and also, he’s a couple years after the army and Tennessee National Guard as a M 88 recovering vehicle driver . It be cool you make a model of the M88 recovery vehicle
