Just a FYI don't do your burnouts in the water box. Pull into the box, give them a spin if the box isn't real wet, pull out of the box and light them up. Doing your burnout in the box will sling water all up inside the wheel well and then drip all over the tires when you're staging. Nice 500! It was my first Mopar when I was 18. Black with black interior just like yours. Drove it to work every day, raced it on the weekends.

The 64 Polara was my dad's family car back in the 60s. It was blue with a 318 with 2bl and automatic. It seemed pretty fast to me as a kid....can remember the sound of it dropping into passing gear when dad wanted to get around someone.

I also have fond memories of those days in the car travelling. Your dads car must have been a beauty in that colour

What a great looking (and running!) Mopar! My dad befriended a young mechanic at our local Sunoco station back in the late ‘60s. When he wasn’t wrenching on customer cars he worked on his ‘64 Dodge. On Sundays he drove it to the track. Black and black like yours. Basically stock appearing. 383 with torqueflite.

Awesome. I knew she would break into the 12's. Congrats. I weighed our 64 on a certified truck scale. It weighed 3,700 lbs complete with a full tank...spare tire/jack and tools. Did you see that Jay Leno just bought a 1964 Dodge Polara 500? Yup.....and now the prices will go up! YES!!!! Good for us. :) Cheers, Brian and Gayle

My first car was 68 Dodge Polara with a 383. I added dual exhaust and a few minor things. It was pretty fast. I didn't lose too many street races. (Added benefit was a very big back seat).

I had a '65 Dodge Polara with the 383 Mag. It was an old police interceptor with a primered body. 4 door. What a wonderful sleeper...

Thats a sweety. I love the cars you dont see that much of any more. Im an old school chevy man but a rare mopar takes me back. It dosent have to be the fastest, there's always someone with deep pockets to buy something faster. I even enjoy an old ford, sometimes, lol...

Very cool nostalgic build. Sounds like your converter is a bit too tight for your combo. Unless of course you street drive the car than I get that a compromise is needed.

Are you running the original 383? Did your car come with its original numbers matching engine? It looked like it did from watching your other videos.

Thank you for the comment. It is an original 383 console car. The block had a crack so it was replace with a 400. Keep on making great videos on your channel

Your supposed to have the bugs out before you head to the track!! But what do I know??? I have a division 1 title. a 13 second car is like taking a worn out 396 Chevelle to the track. LOL Amature hour at its best. My 1969 Chevelle with 200k on it can out run your pretend play car. LOL
