@@raymacs1-43 Yes I've only been collecting for a few years. Mostly 1/64 scale and I like classic cars you know land yachts station wagons and the like. It's nothing like your wonderful collection.

Collezione molto bella e completa, compresa la Fiat 500 C,riprodotta nel modellino Brumm. Tale auto, nella realta', fu preceduta nel 1948 dalla 500B, con la stessa struttura in masonite. Tale tecnologia fu poi abbandonata, per problemi di difficolta' di chiusura degli sportelli, con tale materiale, non metallico, soggetto a deformazioni. Infatti, poi usci' la 500 C, belvedere con struttura tutta in metallo ed ottimo successo di vendite nell' Italia dei primi anni 50.Vorrei rilevare, che nella collezione, manca il modello Alfa 2500, carrozzato Viotti, una vera Woody, all' italiana, prodotta in resina dalla ditta italiana Mini Miniera, di cui sono in possesso di un esemplare, aggiunto agli oltre 500 della mia collezione di Alfa Romeo, Fiat e Lancia. Hi Ivan, many thanks for your kind comments very much appreciated. Interesting information about the 500B and C. Always good to hear stories about the real thing, it brings the models to life. I have a couple of Viotti bodied models including the Alfa 2500 and a Lancia B10 both by ABC Brianza. These where brought more than twenty years ago. The Italian side of of my collection is very special to me, and also includes Maserati and Ferrari and some early Rio Bianchi. I have some doubts about the Alfa 2500 station wagon scale. But have been unable to find out the wheelbase of the real thing so I can to check it out. Cheers for now and keep collecting.

@@raymacs1-43 A proposito di Maserati, diversi anni fa ho conosciuto, per ragioni di lavoro, un meccanico di tale fabbrica automobilistica. Questa persona seguiva i piloti durante i gran premi degli anni 20, 30 e primi anni 40 del secolo scorso.Mi racconto' di un episodio accaduto durante le prove per il Gran Premio di Montecarlo. A quei tempi, la francese Bugatti risultava quasi imbattibile, sembra per sospensioni, allora, innovative. Allora cosa fecero i tecnici e meccanici della Maserati per tentare di superare tale handicap? Invitarono a cena i colleghi della Bugatti e mentre questi erano intenti a mangiare e bere in abbondanza, lui ed un collega esperto, entrarono nell' hangar della casa francese e da sotto all' auto con disegni e verifica diretta, compresero la tecnica di questa sospensione vincente. Una cena, con conseguenze, degne di un film da agente 007.So long, Mr RayMac' s, from Italy. Ps. Quando ero piccolo, ho conosciuto il capo collaudatore della Maserati, in quanto abitava sullo stesso mio piano, quando tale fabbrica era ancora a Bologna. Il figlio di questo collaudatore, ingegnere, divento' poi direttore generale del gruppo DeTomaso, che inglobo' i marchi Maserati ed Innocenti, quest' ultima produttrice, su licenza Leyland della famosissima" vera" Mini Minor, nata Austin e Morris.
