Thank you Dan! Your work on capacitor torpedoes is what inspired me to build some. Excellent design!

If you put a four-way rectifier with Schottky diodes inside the torpedo, you will not need to observe the polarity of the connector. The Schottky diodes in question can be SMD for small volume. There may be a current limiting resistor in the boat to protect them from the large charging current of the fully discharged capacitors. And, basically the idea of this torpedo is just perfect!!! Sorry for the bad English - I use google translate!

@@undersee604 In the eighties I competed in the F6 model boat class. If you want, you can take a look at my channel, there are two or three clips of the models I participated with. At the moment, at the request of my son, I set about restoring them... For this reason, I looked for ideas about torpedoes and came across your channel to my great pleasure!

@@EvgeniDemirev the problem with the torpedos is the weight because they are so small, need to keep the weight down so they will float after they discharge.

@@undersee604 Thanks for the reply! With our models, the exact scale is not very important. So, with your permission, maybe I'll use some of the idea for those torpedoes. I hadn't thought of this idea of using capacitors to briefly power a miniature electric motor. Your idea is just perfect for ship models. Since the models we once competed with also have pyro effects, most likely, for understandable reasons, the torpedoes will be single-use, and thus the cost of one launch of the models is greatly reduced.

Ah, like a torpedo engine rubber band power I don't like it! Although it is undeniably the cheapest engine. Post Scriptum: Checked out more of your videos! I envy you in the noble sense of the word for your good work!

Wonderfully simply. Like what Musk says: "the best part is no part". You're design embodies that philosophy, Dan. Great work as always, my friend.

The torpedoes are really tempting features to add an explosive charge, a tiny one...:)

Der Torpeto müsste auch ein Sprengkopf haben, der das Feindliche Modell Schiff beschäftigt oder Versenken kann.

IDK how it would work but id love to see one with a small amount of explosive in it like a fire cracker or maybe M-80

Dan, we met over the phone once back in 1995. I bought from you back then your beautiful type VII kit, unfortunately life got in the way so I had to depart from it. Wonder if you still sell it and if you could built it too, at a cost of course.

Hey Dan, as ALWAYS, incredible work. Question for you, I had one of your hulls several years back, but as I recall it did NOT split at the water line...... did you change the model?
@undersee6043 жыл бұрын
Duane years back my original DK Models V11 was split at the water line and sold many of them, however many people had issues with joining the hull halves , I retooled the entire model since then and is much more accurate however I have not molded yet ,the model you have is the old V11. one-piece hull
