I had a policy with friends. I'm not your first call, call me last and only if emergency (my children were babies and I ran my own machine shop). I'd never ask why or how come? If I get called, they are desperate and in dire need. So whatever it was, no questions at that time. Simply get it done. However- after it was all handled, I would inquire. It worked out well, and I had the same privilege with a few friends I could call morning noon or night, no matter what day. We made sure spouses, girlfriends, and significant others understood the arrangement. They never got mad or anything because they knew it could be them broke down and stuck somewhere.

Baker is my absolute favorite place I've ever been. Probably since we used to visit my Mom's family there when I was a kid, especially around Christmas. It was a magical winter wonderland. We'd either be in out '63 Fairlane 200 6, 3 speed or my Dad's W-100 Club Cab short bed 360 727, later swapped to a rebuilt, RV cam 440 police car engine. That was back before it was Baker City, it was just Baker. It will ALWAYS be BAKER to me.
@ceridwenattwood578417 сағат бұрын
It's always just Baker to me, too! My dad lived there for a while in the late '70s--early '80s, and I used to love going to visit him there (though that usually wan't in the winter). My brother never got over the place; he lived there for a while with my dad and always wanted to go back. A few years back, he finally did (completely changing careers to do so). Before he made the move, my brother would go back at least once a year, usually around Miner's Jubilee. And listening to him talk about these trips, somewhere along the way I noticed he was calling it Baker City instead of just Baker. I couldn't figure out wtf he was calling it that! My mind boggled when I learned that they had actually changed the name of the town to that. I never have learned why, and I still think it sounds ridiculous. But I still like the place.

There’s a very good chance a failing solenoid is to blame. If it’s not seating all the way when closed / de-energized, fluid could still be making it past the solenoid and engaging the OD. Either way, I’m going to fix it with a five speed swap.

The tongue weight don’t “look” happy but it must be. The sight of all that weight way out on the skinny end of the ramp truck just looks wild.
@DeadDodgeGarageКүн бұрын
It's an illusion. The ramp truck sits down in the back with no weight at all. New springs and bags are in the plan to fix that. Also, the way the trailer sits comfortably on the hitch, it sits higher than the back of the deck. I could've pulled the W200 up another 6-8 inches to raise the tongue weight if I wanted it, but this was just about right! Biased forward of the axles but not as far as I normally put cars.

My theory is big tires high speed and a low oil condition caused overheating of said oil then oil got past the rings and then in turn caused massive crank case pressure that lead to that carnage. OORRR the rings froze up because the last 3 engines ive torn part have had really really sticky/froze rings and even one of them ran just fine on those somehow. Anyways yes those badges are sick i love them on my 80 but i wish they would have screwed all the badging on. I just use shoe glue to hold em on now.
