Sam, I worked for Audi here in Canada for a while. The star button on the steering wheel you can set for a bunch of different things. As a source button, heated steering wheel, and such. Should help with the issues inside!

My order which deposited on Feb 2022 is now finally in production 7th week of 2023. I am just curious what would happen when I pick up the car? Would they charge me extra than the final amount on the order form? Is it worthy to buy extra warranty and maintainance like Audi care?

Agree with everything you said ! Moved from M5 into RS6 and mmi is not as good as BMW. My R S has a tuning box from MTM which increases bhp to around 700 and also gives much improved fuel economy. Highly recommend

I’m calling it now, i think it will be gone by the end of the year. Awesome car aside it’s not really a daily if I’m being honest. Least not for someone who doesn’t necessarily have the stomach to keep it fuelled up and drive it in anger. I’m sure Sam has worked out the economics of such a juicy and expensive daily but I can’t help but think these things defeat the purpose of a daily. I suppose if you have enough money your daily can be whatever but for me, I wanna get where I’m going comfortably, with decent pace, that isn’t going to break the bank and I’m not terrified to park it anywhere or drive down a narrow road. End of the day your choice though, long as you’re happy with it but I already sense regretful undertones

Chances are, most of us have already heard from every automotive journalist that the controls buried in the infotainment system are a pain. After piecing together your comments on your podcasts, instagram posts, and the main channel videos about your next daily, you probably bought the wrong car for what you were expecting to get out of your next daily, and it seems you bought what the "people" wanted and not what you wanted. Just trade it in for the car you really wanted, whatever that was.

However, the "numbness" of the car could be fixed by a simple tune which will wake the car up. Also, a tune makes the car much more efficient and hence it will help with the fuel economy partly, but most importantly it will make the car a bit more lively and punchy. Seems to me that Sam is desperately trying to convince himself that he made the right choice, and as he's only three weeks into to his ownership experience, it doesn't bode well, IMO. However, I think the spec is very nice. If I were to choose an RS6, I think the green with the tan interior woud be hard to beat. But I also think the latest RS6, while being up on tech is a bit down on quality. And, as Sam has stated, the tech isn't as good as in his previous BMW X3. On top of that, fuel economy is dismal, and it's objectively too big for London, unless you feel compelled to impress others...with how much money you're prepared to spend to impress and how much hassle you're prepared to endure. It's like a woman wearing expensive but uncomfortable clothes and wearing high heels all day, everyday. Initially, it surely makes one feel good, but then you're locked in to the everyday reality and less glamorous consequences. In other parts of the country, and doing fewer miles, there's nothing wrong with choosing the RS6. But no matter, IMO, the worst thing you can do is cause yourself unnecessary financial pain, especially for a daily driver that ultimately you don't even own. Once the honeymoon period is over, it's just another car; not a driveway ornament to impress neighbours or passersby, or to give false impressions for business or social purposes, because at the end of the day nobody else really gives a sh_t. That's the hardest lesson to learn. There's only so much the car you drive can do for you. Spending beyond what is necessary, can actually hold you back. Of course, if the enjoyment factor is subjectively good value for money, then, as Tony often says, it's your money!

It is always so easy to forget the why and purpose of the car we chose to purchase. It’s a big, heavy car that will utilize a lot of fuel but it is a great for cruising the countryside and throughout Europe. With that being the case there has to always be some form of trade offs between acceleration, power and gas mileage. The RS4 as you have demonstrated meets all your needs but there will always be an issue with low gas mileage. To satisfy most of all your needs, with the exception of great gas mileage just buy the Mercedes AMG E63 S Wagon and be done with your last forever all purpose car. Of course it’s going to cost you $$$$ but it’s your last forever all purpose vehicle. So over time the lifetime ownership costs average out to be the same as the RS6. Now that’s the approach I took, I live in California and gas is never cheap so you learn to deal with the trade offs. The cost of doing business for the things that bring up pleasure and delight in life. Enjoy the RS6

You probably drive it slowly, at the speed limit 90% of the time, 2 hour motorway cruise to film a video etc, no fun driving. Why don’t you just buy a bmw 340D, really as fast as any car needs to be… And a 340d touring is lighter and more nimble than an RS6, but you can easily get 45mpg on long journeys. It’s also cheaper. There’s nothing fun about putting £300 of petrol in your car per week. You don’t have money to burn, and how many videos can you realistically make on a daily? I’d just buy one sensible car, and make videos on other peoples cool shit, that I don’t have to pay for. 😂

Sam you disappoint me greatly. You wanted a daily driver but you bought an RS6. You say you need something big to transport stuff around on a regular basis. You're friends with Lenny The Geezer.................Why didn't you buy a Transit??? 🤔 You clearly have doubts over your choice and I can't see this one lasting long but keep up the great vids anyway!

Back in sunny Gloucestershire I see! 👌 But as for paying out over £27,000 PER YEAR for fuel, YOU MUST BE MAD!🤪 with those sort of costs it really doesn’t work as a daily unless one has money to burn!

So about £500 quid of petrol a week. Yikes that's not a good idea. You might as well run your 360 as a daily Sam.

Those mpg figures are looming into supercar territory rather than a daily mover. 150 quid every few days is a big daily expense. I like the RS6 but it’s really not a daily. An RS4 or RS3 saloon would be more suited as a daily performance mover. Especially in London. But I’m loving the content Sam 👏

I live in Switzerland and have an identical RS6. As you know being caught speeding here = handcuffs and jail. I therefore sadly end up using the Economy setting a lot and find the car much more frugal than my old RS4 and see frequently 24 to 27 mpg on long motorway journeys. Do you have the carbon brakes? One think I have found is that with the very open wheels, I suspect the discs are often too cold in low ambient temperatures. In periods of very heavy rain, I find the response slow and the car pulls slightly to the left. Audi say they know nothing of this, but I wondered if you have had any similar experiences? CP

My dream car... Have you driven 4x4 Cars before? Or only 2wd Cars? Cause 2wd and especially rwd ones pushes you in the seats. Where they quattro pills on 4 Wheels the oomph is more devided... But when you let go off the throttle you plant your face on the steering wheel, letting you Remember the car does pull hard 😁. As for the Cole steering wheel... Assuming the wheel is not getting cold while driving 😉 better turn that button on before leaving the parking spot hehehe. I’m a bit disappointed for you Sam, Great Car, Nothing wrong with it, I have the V10 RS6 and looking to update to the V8 at some point and looking to stretch to the latest as you have, but feel what I have wont be a huge difference in drive and performance, Interior is a huge improvement don’t get me wrong, I “get” the feeling behind any RS product and how I feels to drive. Motorways and longer commutes will be where it shines, Hope you can “Blend” into the Audi ownership.

I think if you're going to be doing lots of B roads and heavy traffic, you will see high consumption, but my RS7 will do 8.5l/100kms on a motorway cruise. That's 33 mpg in old money.

Not meant as a negative, but… you say it feels like you’ve done well and a pat on the back for driving an RS6 daily… but finance sounds high (RS6 depreciates a lot) and running costs are high, so it doesn’t really make sense. Making yourself poorer just to drive a 600bhp blunt instrument. Made the mistake myself in the past as well, so moved on my F90 M5.

Can't help thinking of the Alpina B5 Touring V8 or diesel for the economy. (Big plus for me is you can buy diesel in bulk which is cheaper, a 2000ltr tank in the garage, job done. :)

85% of cars on the road are owned by the bank. I’m an Audi man through and through, but I think an RS4 would’ve been a great choice, with a blend of speed, space and looks. 450hp is more than enough for the road.

Love ya Sam you’re the man, but these days a one button switch between CarPlay and the radio is on the more accessible end of the spectrum. I daily a 992 and frankly given how the system feels that day, it’s 2-3 clicks on a non-haptic touch screen, still annoying and ridiculous, but thankfully the heated steering wheel button is mounted on the Porsche steering wheel…

As an Audi owner myself, i usually mess with the infotainment/climate controls before my drive, during a fuel stop, or at a red stoplight. I dont like taking my eyes off the road, and i rarely do use the touchscreen, however I found it helpful to find my habit and do all this before i pull out of the driveway/parking spot

I can’t believe how bad the MPG is! The C7 RS6 was able to get 40mpg on a long run. You should definitely look into the new M3 estate as a daily to replace this.

This car just is NOT right, Sam. Unsustainable fuel cost. Too brash and showy, without the actual driving experience to back it up. Screw the Audi. The 360 is your "slap on the back". Buy something sensible. Get out of this albatross while you can still make money on it, before it REALLY costs you. Also, involve missus Sam in the choice! 🍒

Fuel economy- I was told by someone in Munich when you go to test drive new cars that you should run the car in individual mode rather than Dynamic if you want to drive aggressively. Heated steering wheel and Radio - Audi you have to teach the MMI system your voice somewhat it will struggle in the beginning and also if you have the sunroof open.

My MX5 (2 litre ND2 181bhp) gets 14-18mpg on track days, 32-38mpg around town and 45-50mpg on motorways. Can't compare the cars but I think you can compare the fun factor. Single digit fuel economy at g-wizz speeds is hard to swallow. I believe you're spending more on E5 even when you consider a 1-2% increase in economy. I hope you enjoy it, although once the novelty wears off I think the fuel bills will make you want something else.
