In this video, I'm giving you an inside look at the progress of our 1,500 sq. ft. TimberTech AZEK PVC deck project. We're in the final stretch, with only two weeks left until completion!
First up, I'll walk you through the framing details. This deck is built to last, with 2x12 joists framed 11 inches on center for maximum strength and stability. We're also using Glulam and LVL beams to provide solid support across the entire structure. This isn't just any deck-it's a beast, supported by 8x8 rough cedar posts that not only add structural integrity but also give the deck a beautiful, natural aesthetic.
You'll see how we've carefully planned every aspect of this deck, from the meticulous layout of the joists to the precise installation of the support beams. This level of detail ensures that the deck will be both durable and visually stunning.

Work looks really good. The only thing is wrapping that beam. What prevents the water from getting between the glulam beam and cedar boards? Won’t that encourage rot from water being trapped?

We are taking extra steps to assure there won't be water getting behind the cedar by applying large amounts of lexal behind the top and using g-tape to seel it.
