It’s a medical procedure, not a day spa. People don’t go to the podiatrist and get their nails painted. It’s supposed to be all about the outcome rather than the aesthetic.

I use a nose hair trimmer, Neel! Also, some of us like to see the amount of wax removed on a tissue next to, say a 5p piece, so we can get a sense of the size of the detritus removed! Love the videos!

Neel It doesn't matter if the ear is hairy, or if it is a narrow ear you are so precise and skilled that you can have a challenge and you are so experienced you make it look so easy, but I know it is not. Neel, wonderful videos as always. Do you think that you could add arrows, circles, or some other visual cues on the images when you are describing the various parts of the ear canal. It would be most helpful to the understanding of the “geography” of the area. Many thanks!

I love watching your videos at night when everything is calm and quiet, including your voice. I would be so exited when I got to the clean, clear, eat drum! I don't know how you stay calm through the whole video! One thing I always wonder, is why don't you start from the top when the wax is hard and most likely peels down right to the plug? This seems like it would be much easier, and faster, instead of going straight to the plug. Well you're the professional and I am just a fan!! Keep peeling and stay well!!

I started watching your videos a while ago because I am one of those sickos who enjoys watching this sort of thing, but your persistent informative style actually changed how I look at this. I'm sorry there's so many people that try to bother you because they want something like pimple popping videos and you're here trying to do a legitimate service to the community. For whatever it's worth to you, I'm now aware of how undesirable water is in the ear, and I know the dangers of a cholesteatoma.

Don't forget to remind your patients that whether they own up to it or not.... you can pretty much always tell when Q-tips have been in use.

Hi Neel I understand that the hairs are a problem for you & I was wondering if some how you could coat the hairs in Vaseline & stick the hairs on the ear. When you finish then remove the Vaseline. Anyway love to watch your videos & thank you for sharing them ❤❤❤❤❤

Wouldn’t want it to be painful for the patient, but would hot wax work and pull the hairs out? I’ve seen TikTok videos that use wax for nose and ear hairs.

People abusing you for showing earwax removals from hairier than average ear canals are in denial about the real world. They'd prefer to see a sanitised "disneyfied" curation from your day-to-day work.

I can understand that having those ear hair's can & for some does create a sense of not being able to see clearly enough with how they may interfere with their viewing enjoyment, but, unfortunately you can only work with what you have in front of you. You have explained many time's in the past that you can manage & you have to be careful as if you cut them off,you then have lose ear hair's floating around but also you could end up with you're patient developing foloculitis ( I did my best to spell it so it's understandab )le ) which then would cause yet another problem for you're patient & already suffering with the wax is the main issue. I'm not bothered by the hair,it is what it is so why cause another problem when really it isn't that necessary. You are the qualified audiologist I'm just a lay person so I go with the flow,but it is quite a good point for other's to get their question's in. I did see this 1 with you're neice with you because you said how she had a good raport with you're patient's 😊

Some women use a dermaplaning tool to remove hair from the face. It is extremely sharp, yet gentle on the skin. Not sure if that would work on inner ear hairs.

Although difficult, you could have been more efficient in this procedure. You increased your tendency to leave debris behind. Instead of increasing your efficiency.
