1,600hp/1,450kg Bugatti Bolide: Start Up, Accelerations & Quad-Turbo W16 Engine Sound!

The Bugatti Bolide was unveiled in late 2020 as an extreme concept of what it could have been a track-only sports car developed by the brand. It was fitted with the same 8-liter quad-turbocharged W16 engine of the Bugatti Chiron, although upgrades to the W16 engine would have allowed the Bolide to generate over 1,800 hp and 1850 Nm of torque.
This monster was thus appreciated by potential customers that Bugatti decided to develop a production version, scheduled for 2024 at a net unit price of €4 million and limited to 40 units.
Compared to the concept car, the production Bolide is fitted with a 1,578 hp W16 with a torque figure of 1,600 Nm at 2,250 rpm using 98 RON gas and a kerb weight of just 1,450 kg.

I remember the first prototype, with an exhaust system without restricting the pure sound of the W16, but this one seems to direct the intake gases much better, and has a more refined sound, but more raw than that of the street Chiron, otherwise, I still like it. a lot of the sound of street Bugattis!!

@@thehomelessproject3784The Bolide is a track-only car, so driving it on public roads is a no-no. As for the 1850hp, that was achieved with special racing fuel on the concept car model. Personally, I'm more interested in the Bolide's claimed top speed of "over 501 km/h".

@Yukino-014 which is my entire point... the concept had 1850hp... and they detuned it for some reason even though it's track only... while you have hennesey giving you a road car with 1800+hp ... the nevera has 1914 hp and the lotus evija will have close to 2000hp whilst being road cars... so it made no sense at all for Bugatti to detune it....

1600bhp from 8 litres and 4 turbos. Impressive. Or is it? You see in the late 1940's (aka 70 years ago 😮) a company called BRM made a 16 cylinder engine too. Of a mere 1.5 litre displacement. Garnished with a single WW2 Spitfire supercharger. It made 600bhp in a car weighing as much as an old mini and span its wheels in the dry in 5th gear. It also sounds 1000x better than this car!!
