TF Sport's Corvette C8 Z06 GT3.Rs testing at Imola: Start Up, Accelerations & Flat-Plane V8 Sound!

Here's a video about the two Corvette C8 Z06 GT3.R race cars of TF Sport in action at Imola Circuit last March during a test day by Kateyama, ahead of the Italian round of the 2024 FIA WEC last April.
The C8 GT3.R is Chevrolet's first racecar that fully meets FIA technical regulations for GT3 cars (previous GT3-class Corvettes were built by Callaway).
Design and development of the mid-engine Z06 GT3.R is a collaboration between GM’s Competition Motorsports Engineering division and Pratt Miller Engineering to primarily compete in the LMGT3 and GTD & GTD Pro classes in the FIA World Endurance Championship and IMSA SportsCar Championship, respectively. With an eye specifically toward customer racing, the Z06 GT3.R will be eligible for multiple championships around the world in which GT3s are accepted.
The Corvette Z06 GT3.R features a 5.5L, flat-plane crankshaft DOHC LT6 V8 engine derived from the production Z06. This engine began on-track development in 2019 with the initial testing of the C8.R. The 5.5L powerplant shares more than 70 percent of its parts with the production Z06 engine, including the crankshaft, connecting rods, cylinder heads, fuel injectors, coils, gaskets and a variety of other sensors.

Needs an X or Y pipe to TRULY sing. Right now it just sounds like two really good-sounding 4-cylinders, except the startup and initial takeoff which are a bit better. Give it a double-X or a Y with the merge close to the headers and a decent length OF merge before it splits back into duals and it'll sing just as good as any even fire 10 or 12 cylinder. Anyone doubting me and saying "it sounds fine, stop nitpicking, couch racer!" go ahead and go listen to a 458 with a Kline full inconel exhaust. I'll wait.

It's funny, maybe I just miss the old rumbling V8s of Corvettes past, but the C8R/GT3R engine sound has never quite got me? I dunno, it just feels...too flat? Like it's not deep and roaring enough like the old V8s, but not higher pitched and howling enough like other more European V8 types? You can hear in videos like this a bit more of a snarl and a growl, which is better though - maybe in person they sound a lot better! Certainly this sounds way better than on TV, so great job as usual with your videos :D

The C8 GT3 is limited to 7500 to 8000rpm while the Z06 is limited to 8600rpm and the engine is designed for 9000rpm according to a GM engineer, 9000rpm for all out endurance racing with 700 HP seems possible with the 5.5L limit(could go up to 5.9L/360cu.in. with a 8500rpm limit).

They sound better in real life, I saw the C8 Z06 at Daytona in 2023. While it may not sound as good as the older styles, like the C5 GTS I saw in the DC Grand Prix in 2002, the flat plane Corvettes still sound better then comes across on KZbin.

Liking the Z06 Corvette....except for the sound...awful! No bass notes, no thunder. There is too much flat plane crank tone. The Mclaren P1 of 10 years ago was a flat plane crank car that sounded absolutely incredible. If only Chevrolet had mimicked the P1's sound for the Z06...!
