1,670,072 DPS ROGUE: Assassin vs Whisperknife! Best of 8 Single Target Setups! - Neverwinter Mod 28

Assassins Toxic Blades and Smoke Bomb combo is getting fixed with module 28, tomorrow! However Whisperknife will be getting some improvements, so here I compare my damage tests with different setups on the Rogue with both Assassin and Whisperknife after these changes! I also compare versus my other class tests, like Ranger, Wizard, Fighter and Barbarian. Just a few classes left! Keep in mind this is single target with full time on target!

A big thing that makes the SoD rotation so powerful is the double tacticians procs allowing for 2 full rotations during the arti call. It was my understanding that they would no longer stack. Also not sure if you tested the broken stealth smoke bomb on assassin but im sure the results would be way different, unless they fixed that

Smoke bomb bugs have been fixed on preview for a couple weeks now. And WK with Shady Prep doesn't require 2x tacticians to begin with as long as you run enough recharge speed from something like Shroomwood set.

@arashi302 forgot all these tests are on preview, still works on live currently. And you need at least 1 tacticians to get 2 sods off in a single arti call, without it you can only hit a shadowstrike, maybe a lashing if you're pushing a lot into recharge speed. I've been playing wk since the buff and this is how it's always been, shroomwood makes very little difference to the rotation. Maybe shroomwood, recharge enchant and recharge collar you might be able to but barely and if not running tacticians what else would you run all other options are pretty bad.

@@user-kv1ih9lf5e yes, i meant it requires 1x tacticians xD my bad, wording. i just meant it doesn't need the second stack. and yeah even all that recharge speed couldn't replace a tactician's also i dont think it was ever mentioned that tacticians was supposed to not stack. they actually changed the original version of tactician's when it released on preview from not stacking to stack, but lowered the bonus.

@arashi302 I don't remember exactly where i heard it, probably a dev q&a stream or hr discord, but I've been under the impression that it wasn't intended to stack. Personally I think it's great and for most classes the extra tacticians doesn't make a huge difference but for hrs it's a huge change because it allows them to use 12 back to back encounters every 15 seconds pretty much with the right build while also having daily for arti calls. I personally don't build 2x tact on my wk because I don't have the mounts for it but if I did the rotation would feel a lot smoother and less sweaty trying g to get that last encounter out. I've really enjoyed the wk these last couple mods but it can be difficult in dungeons with a ton of adds during boss fights.

Even TR WK is terrible on single target but most the content is killl tons of mobs than bosses theres no way other melee class like fighter and barb can keep up thats why class racism exist on this game because of master trial look skirmish and master dugeon like trial.

Yes but most content is what ever, the relevant content is mostly single target, your st damage dictates a wipe or a clear.

This what I was excepting. Not only are rogue 300,000k damage over other classes. Plus 25 percent from behind. So we’re talking a extra 400,000k. In total 700,000. Over every other class. This Explain why tanks have a hard time on argue against them. I could imagine bard.

oh assassins and whisperknife are now not only top dps in AOE but also in ST. We barbarians are completely gone again. Not only in ST but especially in AOE. I don't know why Rogues are buffed again in AOE and ST. They were already strong before. It's just a shame. Apparently rogues are very important to the developers. All you have to do is play Rogue and you're always top 1. It's about time I wrote a post on this topic in the Discord so that the developers become aware of it. This really can't be right. I thought all classes should be balanced but what I see here is ridiculous. This game is becoming more and more useless. Rogues should be nerfed, not buffed.

Assassin ST and AoE are nowhere near the top anymore. WK SoD is clunky and very backloaded, in actual content a good chunk of this damage is wasted. Their cast times also don't allow for any easy movement while casting abilities, so in any content where there are more mechanics that require moving around, it's easy to mess up SoD. Particularly if anything happens during artifact call, which is up to 75% of WK's damage (a portion of which is further backloaded). There's no coming back from a bad artifact call, more so than most of the classes. They're basically a loose version of melee arbiters, except better balanced to compensate for the mechanical loss with higher stationary damage. WK AoE tho, yeah broken asf who knows why in the world they decided to buff the encounters more. Taking dummy comparisons as gospel without thinking through the in-content implications that come with playing a class isn't the best way to decide how powerful they are. If anything, a good Bard dps is nearly equal to the level of the currently bugged Smoke Bomb + Toxic Blades Assassin for boss fights (including mixed), and WK SO in AoE. Albeit Bard's way more skill oriented, which is good.

Other dps waste also dmg in actual content…thats why aragon does tests with his rules, so all are more or less the same. And fact is, the rogue is just to strong. But who cares, all will build rogues and we will still lack tanks and healers but be overwhelmed with bad rogues…

@@markofrklic8208 I never said no one else wastes damage, the problem is how easily and the extent at which damage can be lost on backloaded classes, like WK SoD and Arbiter. When your damage comes out even a couple seconds later, it's easy for a target to phase/die before the damage is dealt. And with how clunky the class is, it's very easy to get interrupted and potentially lose the window entirely. Anyone who has practice playing these classes would know the feeling. Most of the frontloaded and smoother classes get their damage dealt in-the-moment, and don't have don't have as much issues with mechanics/interruptions because of cast times/clunkiness. We'll have to see how this goes when the changes come out and we can run content with the new buffs, but it's a high stretch to go thinking that WK SoD is suddenly a dps class that is unfairly way too strong based off a stationary dummy test, of all things.

While I won't go so far as to say your WK rotation is flat out wrong. There's more than one way to skin a cat so to speak. I'm sure your powers of choice and rotation works well for you given the fact your much further along in your build. I will however go far enough to say that if you're not using VP in ST WK then perhaps you should stick with assassin. Granted I myself choose to not use lashing blade knowing thar it is a good st skill, for the versatility of blitz as my third power. St or not. VP is not only you SOD trigger skil but it's your second biggest range hit. While lashing is potent it requires being close to bosses. It's not a very versatile skill. Proper rotation vp1 ss Marcos hateful knives, mount, VP2 Whatever you choose as your third encounter. Any a Artifact other than macros is a waste. EDIT ... and yes precede all that with a disheartening strike. Also Vp2 vs enc3 can be swapped if en3 doesnt leave stealth. otherwise does not matter really.

vp is pretty terrible for damage output here. You take too long casting which results in a loss of damage especially in the 10s arti call in endgame content. I suggest you go and test for yourself, but if you are not doing endgame then min-maxing your damage does not overly matter

@@Aragon- I've run mtic. While I'm only 95il and have some stats to catch up on yet. I'm more than capable of running Endgame and completing with 100k il. While VP does take practice and getting used to it is not overly slow. It is however still the second strongest range skill and a vital St skill if you choose to play truly ranged. If you just want to play a WK assassin then by all means your rotation is fine. I'm sure it works great for you.
