How were you able to bolt the downpipe to the flex pipe? Did the flanges connect right up to oem?

Hey, I have the exact same problem with the rattling waste gate on my 1.8t AEB. Did the solution of tightening it last, or did it eventually come back?

It did come loose after some time, I’d suggest using some locktite or tighten the screw more than I did, it could prevent premature screw loosening.

I was thinking if that flap was loose O should just weld it on the actuator lever it's on. But you've just tightened the actuator rod. By doing this did you boost kick in at a different time? What size wrench did you use?

It for sure fixed the rattling wastegate, wouldn’t be so sure about boost kicking in different time. I believe it was 8mm or 10mm

I tightened it till it felt firm, the count will be different for everyone ;)

Mihail Kehaiov It completely solved my rattling issue and boost leak issue, but if you have a vacuum issue this will not fix it.

I have the same motor. Aeb code. 99 Passat. I can recommend a great budget tune I have on mine. I hit 19 psi with the n75j valve,3" test, and forge splitter valve. It's from reflect tuning. Guys name is Ian. He's been around forever on the forums. www.ebay.com/p/691891971
