So much nostalgia for the game I fell in love with years ago. Wish night maps were brought back for unranked and casual. A lot of the changes were necessary but I mostly miss the more tactical feel the game used to have

whas not necessary, nightmaps is even more ezz to see enemy, emberise daylight maps was 10x worse, on night maps all enemy have a white glowy outline, also anybody with a 144hz will have zero problems bc there screens can see better in dark maps

And yeah it looks cool to remember, but it was not fun to play you get killed out of nowhere cause you couldn't even see a guy game was not fair and very uncompetitive and for first person shooter game to go big it needs to have competitive scene.

Man, I started playing in 2017 and stopped around 2020 and I still play a game every few months just to see how it is but it's a completely different game. From a technical point of view the game is infinitely better and smoother, but I remember getting online w the boys early in the morning and I would never skip the intro cause it sounded so cool. Nostalgia of White Noise, Chimera and Para Bellum is just too much. I even used to play ESL on xbox, spending a whole afternoon on consulate and coastline. One of the best games that ever existed. Now I mainly play campaign games and I'll hop on cod or fifa for sure from time to time, but it will never compare with old r6. PS my mains were twitch with acog and valkirie

Might be a strange take but I think I had the most fun in late Velvet Shell and early Operation Health, them taking away ACOG from Jäger just kinda killed it for me, I know it was broken or whatever, but it was fun, most of my fondest memories are from that time

That recruit Shield ace around the 18 minute mark couldn’t have possibly been from Operation BLACK ICE. Before Operation PHANTOM SIGHT shields used to one hit kill you with a melee. However, in that clip the recruit shield player downs several opponents with a melee before shooting them again to finish them off.

My first time ever taking a break from the game was after getting killed on Cafe from an SMG11 spawn peak. Had me furious because it was non-stop back then. Haven't played in 3 years now but my friend told me they added cross-platform play so I'm going to try it out again soon. May the smg11 acog, shield laser sight glitch, server stressing in ranked, Ela's smg being op, recruit rushing, and teammate killing live on forever.

Theres an immense amount of quality of life changes that have trickled in with each patch and much as operation health is a meme, people forget how unstable the game was back then. The thing I do note about the year 1 gameplay is how visually its more impressive - the particle and smoke effects from explosions are way more impressive. Stuff like that and the genuinely debilitating effects of Echo and Elas gadgets all got reduced for "player comfort" which is a shame to me. Also there was a time before Operation Health where instead of animated character models in the menus you had really awesome art work. Red Crow and Skull Rain in particular had gorgeous art in all the menu screens

She was just unbeatable. 50-round magazine, super high firing rate, low recoil, higher damage, 3 speed, 2 impact grenades and Thunder Mine. Jesus. She was a hell of a joy to play and a nightmare to go against. I love playing Ela but be honest she was so unbalanced.

You know, taking this trip down memory lane, I actually enjoy all of the changes and stuff that they brought to the game. It just feels refined. There are only three things that I wished Ubisoft didn't change, the recoil in Grim Sky (The bouncy recoil to me just feels nicer idk), the removal of terrorist hunt in Y8S4, and ADS times over the course of multiple seasons.

its crazy how the optics, lighting and gun mechanics and recoil have all changed drastically. the old siege felt so much better and gunfights felt way less random (despite bad hit reg) because gun recoil patterns where predictable and they were actually realistic. its not hard to make a tight grouping at 20 meters with a low caliber smg or a 556 m4. the acog was the best the game died big time when they removed it. things felt faster in terms of ads, gun ready speed etc. it made for more fun entertaining gameplay.

First of all: Really cool video! :) However, when you go to 8:40 (the ace that was supposed to be from Y5S1, Void Edge) you can see that Oryx gets +5 points for "Proximity Alarm Triggered". Since Proximity Alarms only got added in Y5S2 (Steel Wave), a.k.a one season after Void Edge, that clip cannot possibly be from the season that it is supposed to be from. So we actually didn't get an Ace from Void Edge 🤔😆
