Check list for brush cutting. 1. Unhook back-up beeper! “Drives me nuts plus anyone else around”. 2. Do a perimeter cut around the lot, and two thru the center. “This will give you an idea on what all your cutting, and if there’s anything you need to be prepared for. Old structures, equipment, rock and last but not least swamp! Nice job cutting as well!

In my younger years when I did tractor work, that is one thing I enjoyed the most was Bush Hogging. With 70hp you could do land clearing. That was before skid steers got popular. It was even rare to see them on a job site.
@ajrob28883 жыл бұрын
Great video. I did a year of work like this on a Bobcat bushhog. We did mostly swampy lots near the Savannah River during the drier season (summer). Hot and dirty work, but it was relaxing. We cleared everything from vines to 1-2year growth river birch trees. That old Bobcat shook like a mule. I'm sure it wasn't rated for the bush hog the owner bought, that Cat was probably 12 years senior to the bush hog extension. But it was good work and I learned a lot. Wish I could go and do it again. Oh, by the way, that was a painted skink that went into that crotch hole on the tree. Fascinating little things. Again, great video. I can't wait to see some more. Watch out for them copperheads! Keep a goin!

You improved the value of this property and those adjacent by just cleaning it up. It's safer, more cosmetically appealing, and increased in value. Just a little time and effort by you is very cost effective for its owners. Derelict lots lead to fines and u happy neighbors. Other positives, it keeps you busy and money in your pocket. Great job.

I have come to appreciate your use of the video equipment. You have a good eye for capturing the best view of the action. Also like this unit. I would think the frequency of running into bee's nests would pretty common when working in these areas of high growth and infrequent human activity. The enclosed can is not only for comfort, it is much safer.

Yeah it is a little bit if a weird angle but when it is on the top if I raise the deck it blocks the camera. Its also very vulnerable to getting knocked off by low hanging branches as well. But I do like the view from the top better as well!

It would be interesting to see the old trees covered in vines after going through a wood chipper. It would help with filling some of the ditches (that looked like from a weel) also the vines/wood could break down and improve the soil.
@danielbabcock70043 жыл бұрын
Wood chippers dont like vines. They feed thru without getting mulched up very well. And using woodchips as a fill material is a bad idea.

I don't know how I ended up on this channel, but I have to say that it fascinates me. It's rather mesmerizing to watch on video. No dust for me! I'm amazed at the ability of your rig to cut through some pretty nasty stuff. Have you ever dropped the blades down only to hit something hard like an old bike, or rock, or dead body? What happens then? I bet it screws up the blades. I suppose that a dead body would screw up your whole day! Unless it's a dead snake, then no big deal.

As always, an excellent job from start to finish. I’ve been following you almost from the time you began and the improvements, both with the machine and the camera, have brought a smile to my face. I like your telling us the plan in the beginning, but you need to comment as you go on, when something unexpected occurs. The fallen tree you came across in the brush, for instance. Give us your thoughts when you come across it. Remember, the more information you impart, the better. Look at John with Upstate Brush Control and how he uses commentary to enhance his videos. On the video side, your editing techniques have improved greatly as have your changes of pace. This makes your videos even more entertaining. But don’t save information for the end. You should have shared the issue with the drive shaft earlier to keep us in the loop. And let us know about the copperheads and bees as you work. You know how to talk, so I don’t see that as an issue. With a little practice you can be as good as Chris at LetsDig18. And why shouldn’t you be? You’re just as good, just as entertaining. Use your gifts. Listening to you as I do I know you have them in abundance.
