I’m a little late to the party. I just thought of doing Mary Thomas dictionary of embroidery stitches but the A to Z is a great book too. I love the idea of learning new stitches on such a small project. I hope it’s not too late to start. I like non hope stitching and playing in all my floss. I have visions of a beautiful stitch book. I just ordered the book too... I learn better by example but I love books too 😀, I think I will do each stitch on different fabrics and in different thicknesses of threads, thus doing two experiments at once on a weekly basis. Love this idea!

Hello Christine! I am new to the community having stumbled upon Roxy's channel a few months ago. I'm about to take part in Volume 4 which will be my first project with the group. I am working on the Christmas stitchery journal with my grandma and aunt in a small family sewing circle which is how I found your channel using the hashtags. I love watching your work come to life and hearing your creative process! I felt the same way about using the same stitches. That is why I joined another group that does a stitch a week that started in January but I think I will add the ones that the other group has not done yet. These first two I have done. I look forward to each day.

Hi Christine, I have a version of that book too. I have been trying to use different stitches over the last year but have never done a sampler. I think this is going to be a fun stitch along. I also have another book with all the stitches in it and if you're looking for more A stitches it also has "Antique Stitch" (see Romanian stitch) and Armenian edging. Thanks for inviting us along!
