I really like how you provide conversions for us who do not understand the metric system. I can always do the conversion myself, but that detracts from watching your video. So thank you again for also providing US measurements when it comes to temperature, volume, distance, etc.
@Austrianontravels3 жыл бұрын
You are very welcome! I know that I have many viewers from the US and I know that the metric system is not very common there, therefore I want to make sure that what I say makes sense to everyone. I can do most conversions in my head anyway since I am used to both systems, so I might as well just mention it (even if it's only a rough guess sometimes).

Thanks for the tour of your new home together. Very well organised & just begging for the new fridge to be delivered and put in place. Having the choice.. yes, we would love there, and take advantage of the balcony in summer. Hoping you get assigned a trip this week & catch up on it, in your next vlog. Take care, stay safe and well. x

I'm so glad to hear that you enjoyed my apartment tour! We are still waiting for our fridge to be delivered, but it seems like it should finally get here this week. We can't wait for it since our current fridge is just a bit too small for our liking. I agree, the balcony is a huge plus of our new place, we can't wait for warmer weather so that we can finally make use of it. Thank you so much! Take care and stay safe! x

Wow, well organised..!! All fell in place perfectly as you mentioned. The light fixture in the bedroom looks awesome, hope you would show how it looks when switched on in another video. The frame above the bed looks great. That cute house on the shelf which Lisa and her boyfriend made for you, isn't it Lisa your friend who presented you that jacket which she stitched for Christmas? You have a great friend. Beautiful home, beautifully arranged.

Thank you so much! It's actually crazy that pretty much all of our furniture fit into our new place and actually works with the style of this apartment. I can definitely show what the light looks like when it's switched on, I'm just afraid that it will blindside everyone watching since it's a led lamp and therefore super bright. Oh wow, you are really good at remembering stuff, yes, the shirt I got for Christmas is also from my friend Lisa. She actually told me that she saw your comment in the comment section and was really excited that you connected the dots. And yes you're right, she is a really good friend. Thank you so much! Take care and have a wonderful week!

Yes, I love your new apartment! It is really nice. Is it brand new? I love the kitchen so much with all the countertop space. I certainly would love to live there. It’s super cute. Our 3-bedroom house in the mountains is cozy, and I think it’s not too much bigger than your apartment. We love it because it is smaller and it sits up on a hill sort of and there is a big hill right behind it and I love that. We used to live in a big brand new house and it was so hard to keep clean -I had to mop all the time and this one I still have to because we have a cat and a dog but it’s more manageable! Nice apartment ❣️

Thank you so much! Yes it's brand new, they just finished construction and everything right before we moved in. I love the kitchen too, it's my favorite part of the apartment and such a big upgrade to our old kitchen. Oh nice, I love small and cozy houses! Wait, you have sent me a picture of the view from your house over on my instagram a while ago, right? It looked absolutely gorgeous! I have lived in an apartment more than twice the size of this one a few years ago too and I agree, it's so hard to keep a bigger space clean. I feel like most houses in the US are huge compared to the ones in Austria. Oh yeah, with animals I'm sure you'd have to mop the floors more often since they lose so much fur. One of my friends has a golden retriever and she bought one of those robot vacuum cleaners since otherwise she would have had to vacuum her whole apartment daily. Thank you! Take care and have a wonderful week!
@cindynelson9923 жыл бұрын
@@Austrianontravels yes, that was me that sent the picture of my front yard-it is so beautiful in the spring and summer months. Yeah, the houses are huge here, but the bigger they are, the more expensive they are. Also, it seems like at this moment, even the smaller homes are way more expensive than before-it’s crazy. Take care and have a great week. I am off today and tomorrow 🎉🎉🎉

I was surprised to see the glass in the shower doesn't extend all the way back so I assume water may get all over the bathroom floor?! That's a nicely sized apartment and will look forward to future Spring and Summer videos where you will be enjoying the outdoors on your balcony. ☆☆☆

The tiles are actually installed in an angle which assures that the water runs backwards towards the drain inside of the shower, so that the water doesn't get all over the floor. Additionally, we have floor heating, so if there are a few splashes outside of the shower it will dry in no time, but usually it works perfectly and the water stays where it's supposed to. Thank you so much! We can't wait for warmer weather so that we can finally use our balcony. Take care and have a wonderful week!

What a nicely organized, functional and cute apartment. You have accomplished so much in a short time. I really like your floors. I prefer wood over carpet as carpet tends to trap the dirt and odors so easily. I know that you will be happy to have your large refrigerator soon especially since you cook a lot and it will be much easier to have more room for your refrigerated food. This is such a great way to start off your new year. Have you met any of your neighbors yet? I hope that they will be considerate residents. That is so important when living in an apartment building. Take care, please say hi to Mario and have a pleasant January. 🤗❤🛫🙏🌎
@Austrianontravels3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! Over here carpet floors aren't really common, hardwood or laminate flooring are way more common over here. I definitely agree that way more dirt will get suck in a carpet and wood is easier to clean. Definitely, we keep checking for delivery updates on the fridge, it seems like it's going to be delivered sometime this week. We have seen a few of the neighbors, but haven't had any of them over yet since we don't want to risk anything with the virus. All of them seem very nice and considerate. Thank you so much! I've been to Germany and I was always amazed at how small refrigerators are. Our refrigerator is 29 cubic feet, which is 821 liters. Even so, we have a 14 cubic foot (396 liters) freezer in the garage so we can store even more food there. That's barely enough for the two of us.
@Austrianontravels3 жыл бұрын
Wow that's a huge fridge! I don't think that they even sell fridges that big over here. I guess since electricity here in Austria is about 3 times as expensive as it is in the US, people in Austria are trying to save energy and end up with a lower electricity bill by having smaller fridges. Our bigger fridge/freezer combo is going to have 12 cubic feet of fridge space and 4 cubic feet of freezer space, which to me seems like plenty of space. I think it has to do with the cooking habits and what sort of food you're used to have at home at all times. For instance I remember the milk in the US usually came in these big gallon containers, while over here there milk is only available in one liter bottles (33 fl oz). We've managed to get by with the tiny fridge for the last month, but honestly, I don't get why people get such super tiny fridges, in my opinion, it's just too small.

@@Austrianontravels I’m from London, UK. You are so right, the apartments are so small in Europe compared to the U.S. and Canada. Yes we have a microwave oven and I'd say that they are common over here. However, they are usually not built-in, instead they usually sitting on the kitchen counter. Since we barely use ours, we decided to install it inside of our little utility room (I didn't show that tiny room in the video since it's not much more than a storage closet). Yes we have a washer, I showed it in the video. It's really common here that the washing machine is inside of the bathroom.

I’ve often wondered how you keep the tiles dry in the bathroom with only a half wall in it. I know for us, it’s a struggle when we visited Europe. Be it in London, Paris, Brussels or Amsterdam. Not so much in Italy.
@Austrianontravels3 жыл бұрын
Well, the tiles here aren't completely even, they are installed at an angle, which makes the water run backwards right towards the drain inside of our shower. Additionally, we have floor heating, so in case there are a few splashes outside of the shower everything's going to dry in no time. I have noticed in some hotels that some of the bathrooms don't have the tiles installed this way and I agree, if the tiles are even it's usually a struggle to keep the tiles dry and so easy to flood the whole bathroom. I hope this makes sense.
