Love your vids. As a new player this is both amazing and intimidating. There's so much stuff to do I don't even know where to begin. And I'm awful at combat, I find it so difficult. The journey to get a huge ship like this seems daunting, although I really enjoy the ships I have, and that seems to me to be the beauty of this game.

For my Cutter I went full multicannon except the 2 size 3 slots. The size 4 cannon has corrosive shell and the others have incendiary rounds. This generates a lot of heat so on the size 3 slots I've got two beam leasers with thermal vent. I gotta say, this is incredibly effective! It deals A LOT of damage and I can keep cool thanks to thermal vent but still doing damage. The only drawback IMO is the limited ammo but that's not a big deal to my eyes.

my best pvp memory of elite dangerous was in my fully engineered cutter when I got attacked at a haz rez by a wing of 3 newish looking players in small and medium ships. they shot me in the butt and I started melting them so they fled into the rocks. against my better judgement I chased after them expecting to get ganked. turned out they were in a closet with a pissed off gorrilla. I learned how to bounce off rocks to change my flight direction super fast right there in that fight. killed 2 and the third barely escaped. it was glorious. all hail the cutter. I am sure they were having as much fun as I was. asteroids make for the best battlefields.

Just finished my anaconda.. huge is 1 fixed long range beam, thermal vent. 3 large, 2 medium HPs are PAs efficent 5 with slug. 2 small rails, short range with feedback. I run biweaves reinforced. 4 Heavy boosters , 1 all resistance and 1 thermal. 2 point defense. Able to run this off a grade 4 armored plant. SO FUN TO FLY, the 5 PAs slaughter everything..heat never goes above 65%.. I have 3200 mj shields that recharge 5 mins normal space or 2.5 in supercruise.. Like you said, fly what you love. I had the vette for 1 yr before resetting my save.. I do miss the 3 tier 7 slots but other than that conda is life xD

Nice video! As another turret Cutter pilot, I recommend you to bail the two underside class 2 mc turrets for gimbaled mc. You just want the topside turrets firing all day long and the underside mc firing at the same target than the big chin mc. I fly my cutter with all turreted efficient beam cannons, and it is glorious. o7 cmdr!

This is my setup on my PvE Cutter. x1 C4 Gimballed Multi with Overcharged & autoloader x2 C3 Turreted Pulse with Long Range (1 with concordant, 1 with EM) x2 C2 Turreted Beams with Long Range and TV x2 C2 Gimballed Multi with OC (1 with Corrosive, 1 with EM). All turrets are on top. Gimballed are under the nose. My distro can handle the power needs easily and having long range on the lasers is so nice for damage output. Efficient is a waste and unneeded with this setup.

I love both big and small, both have their distinct traits. Sometimes I love to just jump into the fighter and let my wingman take my big ship. Sometimes I enjoy the feeling of flying something heavy, as it can be a lot more challenging in certain circumstances. But by all means, fly what you love, thats the whole point.

Thermal resist engineering on the shield gen, 2 resist aug boosters with force block, and the rest of the boosters with heavy duty boost will give you the best result

My cutter has bottom hardpoints gimballed multicannons (overcharged) and top hardpoints turreted burst lasers (overcharged) but I will probably change them to rapid fire pulses since even thou they do less damage they will be a lot better for the capasitator.

the DPS from grade 5 rapid fire is roughly equal to grade 5 overcharged for pulse lasor... but rapid fire lets your shoot for longer

Turrets do a bit less damage compared to fixed or gimbal mounts. But turrets mean you can stack your Cutter against the Drop Ships and such. I've got turrets on my Anaconda and don't mind a bit getting in among the rocks. But then my Sneaky Snake almost counts as a hull tank (not quite, but almost). Add to that I just don't feel right (or safe) with FA turned off. I'm not that good and I know I'm not that good.

I'm playing on PS4, I was wondering how all of you guys get the target indicator to show the direction and distance even when you are not facing the target? Is it because you have turreted weapons? I don't have any right now but when I'm fighting I have to use the radar to see where a target is and it's sometimes a hassle because it's hard to tell if I'm too far away unless I'm looking right at them.

I really enjoyed this build, but I am not as risky with FA off all the time. Also maybe you could lightweight the sensors for mass reduction benefits. Will you be making an optimal build for the cutter eventually?

Perhaps, once I have found the right balance. Right now its an open ended test platform. I use it for piracy, as its a complete over kill. The RNG aspect of engineers makes finding a final optimal build very very difficult, as I have so many other ships I am working on. But yes, most likely I will be doing some weight reduction with sensors and I think life support, if I can..

Would this still be viable as a fun-only build now? Because I got a cutter only due to the fact that it looked SICK in this game. And outfitted it almost exactly the same and it's been rather enjoyable for the time being. Even went toe to toe with a friend's Anaconda and he had to use 3 Shield Banks (while I used none) before my shields went down (And mind you they are not the best shields yet, working towards the powerplay ones :>) If there's any other tips you have that might help this build in this day and age (if anything got outdated) I would love to hear about it! Currently unlocking more engineers and farming materials for them. Thanks

I got a Clipper that I love to hoon around in (and one of the sexiest ships in the game, IMO), but it's a dedicated miner (getting asteroid to asteroid is pretty damn quick allowing me about 100 mill per hour, second closest ship in mining is about 50-60 mill an hour). Favorite eye-candy but limited function. My favorite ship to fly is my Alliance Chieftan, I never had a ship test my skills in combat (just so damn flickable). I can hold my own in a CZ until the spec ops show up, my space tank Viper Mk4 lays down more power down range (which is odd because of it's lesser amount of hardpoints), but I can only get a single ship to about 20-30 percent hull and then I have to boost out cuz I'm receiving to much damage; the Chieftan is a little slower in terms of killing people, but I can normally get 4-5 ships dead before I have to leave for either A) no ammo or B) the enemy retreats (I've have only had to leave a CZ in my Chieftan for repair reasons once whereas it's damn near every time in my Viper despite it's greater stopping power).

Millerport in Quince scan missions (Horizons req) 50-100 mil/hr. Conti Station in Shasir passenger missions 20-60 mil/hr. There are lots more bulk-mission locations. I've found 90+ mil worth of massacre missions at once in multiple spots.

Can you make a video of a dogfight between a Vulture and a Clipper? I fly the Vulture and the Clipper reverses and flips on its axis and they do it so fast which is imo a suicidal move and no pilot in their right mind would do it but thats how the npc's fight. I can't flip faster than him so basically its all about having a 'bigger stick'. Im an old school flight sim dogfighter,been flying for 25 years and i find this game is just poorly designed, because unless you are flying a Juggernaut, pulling an axis flip on your horizontal axis is just suicidal. I noticed that your videos are always against slow turning Anacondas and would like to see you fight a real challenge, because flying in a Juggernaut ship against a slow turning opponent is just not helping me, i need to see how you fight a Clipper, i personally use stand off tactics but i want to see you do it. Just an idea for a video is all. Great channel, you're a great pilot in space, but true skill is in flying jet planes. Peace.

Well, your first mistake is trying to fly the vulture as a flight sim dogfighter. If you havent watched it already, I really suggest you try this video first. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJ2VpZSKZcR0q7s All ships in elite dangerous can move in any direction, which is exactly as it should be. Elite Dangerous has probably the best space combat model I have ever played including star citizen. The ships have weight to them, and with the clipper it uses its weight well to reverse, slide and turn. In a vulture move to the side of the clipper, its harder for it to yaw than pitch. Use thrusters to constantly "push" yourself behind the target or at least out of the clippers fire arc. Being above or below the clipper will present a larger surface area for your weapons to hit, so take advantage of that. If you see the clipper turning towards you, veer off to the side and then accelerate towards the target so you can get out of its fire arc sooner. I might make a RAW video on the vulture and put it up sometime this week.

When i said the game is poorly designed i meant the ai fighting techniques. A horizontal axis flip on a fighter size ship is suicidal and unless you have Juggernaut shields you're risking too much. The bigger ships i can understand why they need to flip on their axis, but they can't fly without fighter escort because a smaller fighter squadron would easily take it out, if he was alone. A smaller fighter must keep moving and maybe the Clipper isn't a small fighter and that's why it utilizes bigger ships tactics. The Vulture is a heavy fighter but it turns really tight and the best way to fly it is to keep it mobile against the bigger ships and or use it as a tank to draw attention and allow the smaller fighters to do the rest. I don't think i'm flying the Vulture wrong, i use different tactics against different ships and its very versatile, but when using the axis flip against a clipper, the latter will flip faster. I will try what you said and flank it instead of trying to turn faster than it. I agree the game is great too, i just thought the Clipper was a fighter using the axis flip but i guess its a heavy ship, im new at the game. Hey Jones, i just clicked on that link and i've already watched that video. You're flying against Anacondas, they cant turn, the way you use thrusters will not work against smaller fighters or Clippers, even if you boost while thrusting. I just would like to see you fight a Clipper while flying a fighter or a heavy fighter.
