Off today's topic - I was invited to a fancy holiday party. This is outside my normal social gatherings. I immediately started shopping. Nothing was quite right. I then asked What would Alyssa do? I remembered my LBD summer dress and realized I love this dress and with tights and my fancier jewelery I could make a great outfit. Thank you for being my mentor!

The most surprising look, to me, was the "cozy layers" #12 (@6:00)...because it worked so well. I often wonder how people wear multiple coats/jackets/tops all at once and still look amazing. You showed me how!

I use this approach when I need to be slightly more formal in a cold environment, eg singing in a Medieval church in Winter. There’s a point though when I give up and do Michelin Man chic.

I recall an episode where Alyssa tucked her blazer (maybe this one) into her tartan plaid miniskirt. I couldn’t believe my eyes! I didn’t and still don’t know why anyone would ever want to do that, but she somehow got it done and didn’t rip any seams.

Love these vids. Occurred to me, that 2-jackets at the same time would be brilliant for air travel. As they say, wear all the heavy stuff and as much as possible to avoid packing it. Hmmm... Thank you! I don’t own a beige jacket, but found some inspo for two jackets I haven’t worn in a while. This week is set to have slightly warmer temperatures after a few weeks of below freezing or close to. So I’ll see if I can get away with wearing a jacket in the office rather than a thick jumper. Skirts have to wait for spring or summer. I’m a three layers on my legs in winter gal :)
