Alyssa, I love your comparison videos. Your detailed explanations and the side by side visuals are instructional, plus they're lots of fun. And, to ease your mind... No apologies are necessary. We can freely choose to appear taller, shorter, thinner, heavier, in or out of balance, wear whatever syles and colors we prefer. We each have our own standand of beauty. You have always guided us down the paths to get to our desired destinations. The most important 'body considerations' to be concerned with are good health choices... Which, happily, also reap universal beauty rewards. We appreciate your wisdom, Alyssa. Thank you!

Romantic softness is the best way to describe the essence every item in my wardrobe carries. I actually didn't have the words for it for years, but all of my clothes and accessories carry that even before I could conceptualize it...

Love this video, I was working with some low cut jeans today and after trying different tops with various proportions, I realised I just don’t like low cut jeans anymore !!!! So they have been added to my donation pile, it was so nice to finally realise that and to stop trying to make them work in my closet :)

Proportion … so funny this video is about this topic. I realized my best pant length is cropped. I am 5’ 4”, short waisted, longer legs. The crop gives me some balance and just like you mentioned, I too am not trying to look “thin” just proportioned and neat. I like things to look like they are the right fit and combination. Straight jeans are good but they are best if they are cropped. A boot leg also works but with my shape but I tend to like it more with a specific shoe, something with a slight heel and slight point to the toe shape. Developing my wardrobe has taken sooooooo… many turns. Understanding brand fit, proportion, fabrics…so many things and how to put it all together is a true investment in self. This is why I continue to create the best looks for myself. Thank you so much for your clear explanations of all of these details, your videos really help me as I continue to enhance my wardrobe. 😊🧥👚👖❤

This is great - I appreciate that you are having fun with this!…people have always stared at me in public to the point of making me uncomfortable but it wasn’t until lately, When my husband said ‘of course they do - you are a stunning & well put together woman’ that I really took in the fact that truly not everyone is. What a wonderful service you are providing. Your ratio segment made me laugh bc the 2 looks resemble me earlier this week going shoe shopping - before and after! Hahaha all the bowing and scraping ended up w pants half tucked into my boots, shirt half tucked and hair down. Walking in to the shoe store I was invisible - running errands afterward, totally tossled - you would’ve thought I was on the catwalk. So weird and great insight by you!!😂😂😂

Thank you Alyssa! I love your perspective on proportions and flattering your figure, I am 5’3 and very short waisted, short legs, busty and fairly broad shoulders and I find it difficult to flatter every single area all the time with every outfit…Choosing where I want the eye to be drawn is perfect! ❤😊 And your kitty is adorable, I had a cat just like him but unfortunately he crossed the rainbow last year 😢 (I have a dog now though and he is wonderful❤)

I love the jeans you're wearing in the last example!! May I ask what brand they are? I'm still trying to work out my 3 word list (I might have a couple more to start off with... 🤭). I'd heard you use the word "jeuje" many times in various videos and so felt inspired to use it as a description of one of my words but I had to look it up because I had no idea how to spell it 😃 It can apparently be spelt many different ways. The more "official" version seems to be "zhuzh" so maybe I'll stick with that? Thanks for teaching me a new word anyway 🤓🌺

I always love your videos especially when you deal with proportions. I have the same body type as you so it really helps. My mom was 4 ft 10 and dad was 6 ft 1. Everyone always joked I got my moms legs and dads torso. My sister was the opposite…it took me a LONG time to learn how to dress for my figure and aim still learning. Thanks for the video! I have a long torso, short-ish legs in relation, and somewhat wider shoulders and narrow hips. I am 1.72 tall. Funny, that I never thought your legs were short in relation to your torso, also never saw that your shoulders are wide in relation to your hip! So, either I have a distorted view, or/and you are really very good at styling, or/and you are very good at hiding it with camera angles😅in any case: your body is perfect, love the style, and maybe I find it helpful BECAUSE our bodies are somewhat similar-ish after all😊

Lovely video! 🙂 For even more fun learning about silhouette, proportion, etc., I recommend checking out Elyssa’s channel about the yin-yang methodology (sometimes known as Kibbe typing) as it really goes deep about the small things like line, fabric, structure, etc. that can add that “chef’s kiss” to an outfit depending on your body’s unique blend of typically yin and yang features. 🙂 I find it really interesting that many of the recommendations in this video 100% (and out there at the moment) really vibe with my flamboyant gamine body (horizontal lines, exposed wrists, high contrast, etc.) but look a bit “off” on my gorgeous Classic sister. 😄 And of course break all the rules we want and take any system/analysis/structure/personal words/etc. as merely something to consider on the fashion journey. 😊
@KurlyKy Жыл бұрын
I also just remembered Audrey Coyne did a video a while ago asking several women, who do professional yin-Yang body analysis, to complete an analysis on her and recommend outfits based on her natural “balance.” It was fascinating! Just in case you want an interesting watch and want to mix it up from the “3 words” content. 😊
