I have a French bob with bangs. I’m 61. I wear my hair differently all the time, and I don’t have your talent or skill. Sometimes I let it dry wavy, sometimes I blow it out straight, sometimes I blow it out full, sometimes I puff it up more. Even tucking behind my ears changes the whole look. I love it - and I am someone who has literally hated my hair since I was 25.

I’m 56 and have had variations on the bob for most of my life since I was a teenager, in spite of many changes where I decided to try all sorts of alternatives like shoulder length hair, pixies, etc. I’ve always gone back to the bob, because it really does allow for easier styling and for a lot more variety and variations than most people think……I’ve had every length of bangs possible, no bangs, currently curtain bangs , center parted, side parted, deep side parted, wavy, pin straight you name it. This is a great video -I love the bone-straight style so I was interested to see your opinion on the Dyson. My hair is on the fine side, and I unfortunately found the ColorWow product my my hair look a little bit greasy, no matter what I did. Would love to see a “light” version. Thanks again, you have such a clear and thorough way of explaining everything.

Late to this party: I’m a straight hair girl. I can NOT get volume to stay in my fine hair, though I have taken notes on the products you used and we shall see! It is way easier for me to just blow dry the hair straight and let it be since my hair is like fine baby hair. It is also slippery and only knows how to play dead, so I go wth it.
@pamcanfield2553 ай бұрын
I have thin, fine, fairly straight gray hair. Because I'm 70, I don't think the straight look is for me (?) so I normally go for more volume. I'm growing my hair out after having a longish pixie for YEARS! It's the longest It's been since I was young, but I've just gotten to just below my ear & (mostly) one length with a longer curtain bang. I want it to grow another inch or so but it's SO HARD to resist cutting it back off to a more "familiar" pixie style! Thank you for these tips & product suggestions!

I love my Dyson Airstrait. I have never before been able to have frizz-free hair. I have tried round brushes, vent brushes, blow dry brushes, etc. Always a frizzy mess. The Airstrait enables me to get smooth frizz-free hair that lasts for multiple days. If I don't want my hair stick straight I can bend the ends slightly with a flat iron or curling iron. Previously, when using a blow dryer my hair would be a frizzy mess and then I would really need to hit it hard with a hot flat iron, from the top all the way down (usually needing multiple passes). Way more damage. My sink would be full of hair. The Airstrait just glides down the hair shaft without tugging or pulling.

Hi Gabi I got my haircut like yours I will be 59 in December... I love the style of the Bob in the blunt Bob although I don't like my bob cut that short it makes me too self-conscious to you have that short of hair and I also know this it brings more attention to my face when you get older that can be difficult love the style love the cut but will definitely keep it longer resting right upon my shoulders and not shorter than that I have a wedding next month so I'm regretting it so short can't afford extensions but with these videos I enjoy watching and I'm learning so much from you on styling..... I love my hair when I can pull it back in a ponytail or pull it up and it's just a little too short right now any suggestions? As always love and hugs from Oregon... My face is heart-shaped so I do need it a little bit longer I think it looks better resting on the shoulders during the short period I have been flipping it up in the back and that appears to be working and giving me some lift and not bringing so much attention to how short it is.... I love your channel love your videos and love you you're a doll thank you for caring so much about all of us and teaching us how to deal with our hairstyles and makeup you truly are an artist I watch you everyday and I have for years❤

I have had the same hairstyle for years and style it with a hot airbrush the way you showed it. I think there are many pros to this haircut. For example, the styling time is short because the hair is relatively short. While I get compliments on it and I feel like the style looks elegant, it truly makes younger women look older, in my opinion. I don't think it is about the length because straight bobs look very cool and trendy. The one with volume to it looks like a mid-90's hairstyle and makes me look more mature than I am based on my age. I don't like the damaging effect of hair straightening products though so I don't make it straight unless there is a special occasion. The reason why I don't want longer hair is because my hair tends to get pretty oily so I have to wash it every 2-3 days and I don't want to spend a whole hour styling my hair almost every morning before work. Do you think changing the color could help me look younger instead of changing my hairstyle? What colors make women look younger? I have my natural brunette color at the moment.

Hi Gabi! Always love your hair tutorials. I am currently favoring the blow dry brush - I have the same one! I would love love to get the Dyson Airstraightner but it's not just expensive, its crazy crazy expensive, I just can't do it. I am hoping someone will come out with a dupe soon (lol) I also hesitated on getting the WOW product, the reviews on Sephora were not that great however seeing that you have recommended it, I will try it out. Maybe the fact that you are to only use it alone rather than layered with other products may be the result of the poor reviews. Thanks so much Gabi - I love both looks on you, but I also love pin straight hair, so in the video I am all for #2 😊💕
@GlamGirlGabi3 ай бұрын
Hey Antonia! You're right about the Dyson airstrait. It's CRAZY expensive and also very one dimensional. It doesn't do anything except for straighten so you have to really like that to find it worth the price. As for the wow products - it is activated with heat just like a salon Keratin treatment so it doesn't work at all unless you blow dry it into the hair and straighten the hair. I think most people are not using it correctly and that is why they're having issues with it.

I think my hair is similar but a little bit thicker at the bottom and thinner at the top. My hairdresser says it is almost in ringlets in the back. I have worn it straight-ish most of my life. It is shoulder length and I have tried a dryer brush with no success. I can't ever get it straight. I think I'm trying to do too much hair at once, but I also wonder if the added length is part of the problem. However, when I try to wear it shorter it feels like it is so much harder to get the curl out. Thanks for this video. It had lots of good ideas and product suggestions to try. I am in my early 60s and about 25% gray in my medium brown hair. I am struggling with whether or not to color. Do you have any videos on blending color or highlights into graying hair so that you don't have a harsh grow-out line or is just coloring best? I have always felt like my hair has been a good feature, but right now I'm feeling a bit dowdy.

What is I need both smoothing of wirey hairs and volume for thinning hair? BTW, I don't like a flat look. I love the old money bob and bobs that curve under with some crown volume.

Hi Gabi, I discovered your videos this summer and practically binge watched them. Your videos on blow drying your bob helped me so much. I bought the TYMO blow out brush and was SO happy with it and received compliments on how healthy my hair looked from strangers. Unfortunately, it was very, very hot and I feel it damaged my hair. I tried using the cool setting by that didn't help with smoothness or shine. TYMO customer service was great and they sent me a second blow out brush. Of course, the second one was just as hot. I have to blow dry my hair each time I style it and during the school year I style it every day. My question is, do you prefer the Nano Titanium? Is it cooler than the TYMO? Sorry for this long paragraph.

I have had the same concern with using blowdry brushes as they get SO HOT! Am wondering if the dyson airwrap "volumizing brush" would cause less damage and therefore be a good option?

Ha ha ha! I am so sick of seeing long, straight hair on just about everyone. It's funny that women think that a bob is not versatile. It sure is! Looks fab on Gab(i) ❤.
