Dhru sits down with Dr. Dale Bredesen, one of the most esteemed voices and researchers in Alzheimer’s disease, to talk about the first steps to preventing cognitive decline and lowering your risk of Alzheimer’s. Dhru and Dr. Bredesen also discuss the root causes of Alzheimer’s, the role of personalized medicine in Alzheimer’s treatment, mold as a hidden contributor to Alzheimer’s, and so much more.
Dr. Dale Bredesen is internationally recognized as an expert in Alzheimer's disease and the author of the New York Times bestsellers The End of Alzheimer's, The End of Alzheimer's Program, and his latest book, The First Survivors of Alzheimer's: How Patients Recovered Life and Hope in Their Own Words.
He is the principal investigator for the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center at UCLA and established the Alzheimer’s Drug Development Network in 2008, leading to the identification of new therapeutics for Alzheimer’s disease. The Bredesen Laboratory studies basic mechanisms underlying the neurodegenerative process and translates this knowledge into effective therapeutics for Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative conditions. This has led to the publication of over 200 research papers. His group also developed the MEND protocol, which has led to the first description of a reversal of symptoms in patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and early Alzheimer’s disease.

Decreasing that toxic load seems to be helping… lotions 🧴 soaps 🧼 laundry detergents. Upgraded air filters, sink and shower filters, wearing natural fabrics. The hardest thing is those candles 🕯️ for me… even if I don’t light them I still enjoy the smell. I don’t smoke or drink so… for the most part I’m pretty clean.

I think it makes sense to do the easy things: less junk food, eat your bbc (blueberries, broccoli, carrots), take supplements that make sense to you, etc. It’s harder to drop your addictions, maintain weight loss, etc, but adding things is easier.

Thank you so much for this major information. I’m doing a million different things and supplements to prevent cognitive decline. I’m sitting listening any toxins I missed. I have ADHD so most of what you said I actually do just to have my brain. I see ADHD and other things drops in the bucket towards later issues. GABA, Ginkgo, omega 3’s in diet and fish oil caps with high DHA, EPA, I eat wild caught sardines most days, Romain, broccoli and carrot salads , fermented foods, kefir and yogurts, kombucha, organic chicken… fish, liver and a gallon of water a day. Ton of vitamins. 1-2 meals a day so lots of intermittent fasting 5-6 days. I cook and prep all my foods. No gluten, processed… straight farm to table and raw vegetables

I watched my mom succumb to dementia at the age of 79. She was diagnosed only 18 months previous to her death. My aunt (my moms half sister) was diagnosed at age 65 and already can't speak, has trouble swallowing and does not recognize loved ones. This is only 2 yrs since her diagnoses. Obviously both progressed VERY fast. It has me scared (aged 64).

I lost my mother in May , she was 95 . She lived with Alzheimer’s for over 13 years … 13 years in a care home , but we think she was ill prior to that … so it can last years. It is a horrible disease.

So sorry about your mom . My father had dementia , it's a brutal disease. What can happen is that mild cognitive impairment an be misdiagnosedas normal aging so that the Alzheimers is very advanced when it is diagnosed . That is why some people seem to die quickly, what really happened is they were diagnosed at an advanced stage.
