Brian, congrats! What a classy card with a perfect auto! 🤩🤩🤩

It IS a classy card! I don’t think I have enough Tony Gwynn in my collection… If I were to branch out, I would consider adding more Gwynn to my PC. I consider him the “Greg Maddux” of hitters. Maddux never blew hitters away with his velocity, and Gwynn was never the flashiest, not having exceptional power numbers. But each excelled at what they did best! Thanks for watching, Adam!

Thanks, Joe! I’m pumped about it! Gotta love Gwynn’s crazy stats - just about as crazy as Maddux’s!

Autos on that series are tough to find in good condition. Lots of fading and streaks given glossy surface. You should go for full set, four i believe for Geynn

Yeah, these cards are tough to find in great condition. They weren’t redemptions either, but just packed out. Also, the original autos are often either thin or they fade away, so I felt this was a strong enough copy of both fronts, condition and auto, to get PSAs opinion. It is believed that all 10 cards in this set were signed by Gwynn, but there’s no indication of how many of each were signed. I’m happy to have gotten a lighter colored card that shows the auto very well as opposed to some of the darker backgrounds that don’t allow the auto to show as prominently. While getting the full set WOULD be amazing, I think many of them wouldn’t present as well as this one, and I’d probably rather allocate hobby dollars to other areas, but that would be a crazy set to chase! Thanks for the comment!

Congrats! Gwynn is a tricky one to find

Thanks, Allen! Yeah, many people got the regular insert signed “after market” in person or at signings, but those wouldn’t have the embossed Fleer stamp on them! By the way, in case you’re interested, I listed some of the Maddux refractors from my latest PSA grading return on eBay along with a 97 Finest silver embossed refractor PSA 8 (POP 1) - it’s the only one on eBay right now I think in any grade. I can work with those prices too - just let me know!

That's awesome! I wonder how much PSA spends on bubble wrap each year? I have enough of it to last a lifetime

Yeah, that was a LOT for just one card! I’m glad to get this amazing card back in my collection! I will say, modern PSA 8s can really be quite impressive condition! Way better than most 90s cards right out of the pack! Thanks for watching!

Really pretty card Brian

I agree! There were so few pack pulled autos out there back in ‘92 that I almost feel that this like owning a piece of history! Thanks for watching, The Drew!

Congrats on the card! Question, what was the turn around time on that? I want to send an Ozzie auto in for the same service. Timing will determine when and where I have it sent to. Thank you in advance.

Great question! I sent it in the same package along with the other PSA grading order and authentication order to save on shipping. This was probably early-mid March. So it was about 1.5-2 months for the grading order and authentication order, but this dual service card took about 3 months. And there’s no “progress bar” for the dual service submissions, so you’re really left out of the loop for most of the process. I sent 2 cards for dual service last year (auto grade only) and it took about 4 months, so it’s definitely not quick! I hope this helps!
